I am unsure how to do Talisman Making, I picked up scavenging as my other profession and have received multiple epics / blues / uncommons for talisman making and I was wanting to know how to do this profession. I am a tad surprised there isn't a guide posted already..

Thanks for the help!

Nope, no guides yet.

Talisman making is the most challenging of the crafting right now.

Just a matter of time until people make one.

You need salvaging the most so good second choice imo.

I would agree, if you are making talismans get salvaging as your second choice. Salvaging will provide you with the fragments; which are the hardest ingredient to obtain for talismans.
I made an alt with Scavenging to help my talisman maker out and just mail everything to him.

You really don't need a guide, that's the beauty of not having recipies. Here's a breakdown of how it works.

1. You need a "container." These can be bought at the crafting vendor, I'm not sure if there are different levels.

2. Then you need a "Fragment." These come from Salvaging, and they determine what the talisman will give a bonus to (toughness, willpower, resists, etc). Higher level stuff produces stronger talismans.

3. Finally you need "Gold Essence," "Curios," and "Magical Essence." These all basically determine the power of the talisman. Stronger stuff means more power. Curios are from Scavenging, Gold Essence is made by potion makers (who need a cultivator to make the ingredients), and Magical Essence comes from Salvaging.

Talismans have a time limit once they're equipped, so your skill will always be valueable (especially in a guild). The exception to this is Purple talismans, which are permenant. I don't know what determines if you'll make a purple, but I assume you need one of your ingredients to be purple.

Fragments are the most important part, so Salvaging really is the best way to go. People looking to make money and don't care about crafting are going to pick up Scavenging (and to a lesser extent, Butchering), so you should be able to find Curios at the AH. Or level an Alt with Scavenging. Or even better, join a guild and have ingredients funneled to you for free!
