Well we all know marauders can transform their limbs to Claws, swords and the like thats all cool but during the transformations what kind of effects?!!? will it be like the WoW druid transforms with a *POOF* big fat bear ROAR, or will it blur and go all squishy, expand and lengthen before hardening into a big scary claw or any other type of form.
Post what you would like to happen!
for me it would have to be like those korean grindfest games with the awesome animations. Marauder slams arm into the ground and then the symbol for Tzeentch glows of the ground and then the arm glows then glow fades to reveal whatever the marauder transformed his/her arm into :D.

I'd like to see a very graphic mutation, limbs stretching, skin peeling, huge bloody spikes made from bone morphing out of the Marauders arm to form a long talon, crab claw or whatever. No glows where you cant see whats happening, I want to see his arm mutating in all its gory detail. :D
Maybe a bit much for a teen rating but thats what I'd like to see.

What I'd like to see is that your arm starts mutating slowly... but you could fight and do normal non-mutation skills (otherwise it would be too "free kill"). When it would be ready (about in few seconds) your action bar changes to mutation one.

There's a video of a marauder transforming his arms out already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nTJHH2FFuw

I definatly want some gruesome sound effects as well; something like bones cracking, muscle tendons streching, and seeing a crabl claw, or spiky bony grow out would be badass. The whole "poof" thing with druids in WoW was a serious dissapointment.

If they did that, then it would more likely be rated Mature, so then they wouldn't get as many sales, so then the game wouldn't be as popular so less good RvR.

I watched almost all of that... I kept expecting Marauders to pop up. NONE DID!!!

Too bad. You would have less WoWers, and more Warhammer...ers. Id take the latter any day.

I'm actually doing my bachelors animation degree on similar organic transformations, if you could actually use the model to "melt" into the new weapon I'd be impressed, it can be a lot of extra work just to get this effect. I'm personally expecting something a fair bit simpler, something to obscure vision and then the new arm in place. Wow style or similar glowy nonsense. We can but wait eagerly :P

I'd personally like to see the mutation happen rather than the "cloud of smoke, Surprise!"
I've seen alot of people on these forums talk about the age rating of the game and how they feel that increasing the rating would reduce the amount of children playing it. It won't.
Age ratings in games mean nothing to people and are rarely enforced in shops (over here anyway). Whenever I go into GAME theres a child purchasing GTA or Saints Row or whatever mature game there is and the staff don't even care. And even if the staff refused, you know the child will simply bring his mum or dad in to buy it for them.
Just accept that you will get young players regardless of what rating you put on a game.

Exactly, and they may as well make it T anyway to 'officially' open the game up to as many potential subscribers as well.
Since you mentioned GAME, do you live in Australia?

please no "poof!"
I was going to say "no glowy crap" either, but after thinking about it, if it *has* to be a glow effect, there were some reasonbly nice "black glows" on some of the weaps in that other MMO..

I think Paul stated in a video somewhere that marauders will take a short while to mutate.

poof is bad.
how about some kind of effect like purple winds or black ravens swirling around the limb, blocking out the vision of it while it transforms, and then with a lightning strike or feathers exploding outwards and ravens flying off, the limb is its new mutation?

I would DIE to see a Marauder do a "switch to a sword" spell or "mutation" 'combat' ability where it shows the morphing of the arm into the weapon.
Would be neat

What Id like to see it the mutation happen in an explosion of blood and... feathers of all things.
Also I want it to seem as painful to the marauder as possible.
Blessings of Chaos should come at a steep price.. namely ones humanity.

Feathers... I never thought of that, but since I guess all chaos PC's worshipped tzeeentch, that could make sense. So yeah, if done right, that might be pretty cool.

Feathers would be interesting. I bet they could come up with something to directly morph one weapon to another without too much trouble. This would be great (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X-HUqjS3YU&mode=related&search=) except for basically turning into a chaos spawn, or maybe especially due to turning into a chaos spawn.

I'd like to see violent, incontrollable limb stretching, with some fight shouts added in for the extra flavour.

Tortured screaming has to be a factor, I sure would scream like hell if my hand melted into a tentacle ¬.¬

Alright, I thought about it for awhile, and I finally decided how I'd like to watch the Marauder mutate.
First step: Appendix explodes in a gory, painful, gut wrenching blast.
Second step: Bone grows out to fill in area where appendix was lost but with the shape of the new mutation. i.e. a large club like bone for a mace type mutation.
Third step: Blood veins perhaps black from chaos energy begin to cross and flow up the newly formed bone.
Fourth step: Muscle creeps up the bone making the appendix large and clearly malformed.
Fifth step: Skin begins to encase the newly created appendix while missing some areas leaving chunks of bone or muscle protruding from the appendix.
Merely witnessing this type of mutation in a cinematic would probably make me cry tears of joy for a week straight.

appendage maybe? Or perhaps just a twist on an organ that already tends to explode.

I think it would be cool if tentacles sprouted and covered over the appendage that was to mutate, cocooning it until the more beastly mutation breaks through.
That way they get to keep the T rating as well.

as i think, many would like to have the part where the marauder crack their heads into 2, but just to see the arms crack would be !!!!!!!!! awesome!!!!
