Talisman making quality using materials

Ok so I know to get talisman fragments I have to have magical salvaging. I get some fragments, I have had some meager ones and another one step above meager, I forgot what is was called. I can buy better quality curios on the auctioneer but it doesn't seem to make a difference on the talisman at all. As far as the gold essence's as far as I can tell the better one's must come from drops as I never see any for sale, I always have to use the plain jane one from the vendor, which I know isn't good quality.

Question is, do you get high quality gold essence from drops only?

In scavanging, you get gold dust sometimes. With cultivation, you can grow goldweed. With Apothecary, you can combine gold dust with goldweed and produce Gold Essences. Depending on the ingredients, you can get higher level Gold Essence.

I banked some level 25 and 50 Gold Essesnce but I am still working on my Talisman Making to get it up so I can use these essences.

You get them from Apocathary crafters, who in turn need to use Cultivation to get the ingredients.

So if you want Gold Essences, you either have to get the cheap ones from the vendor, keep scouring the AH (it'll get better once the game has matured a little), or get a friend with those crafting skills.

Better quality Curios do have an effect... we're just not sure what yet. Maybe more strength, or a higher chance to crit? (quality is based on Fragment color, but you have a chance to crit to a higher color. Like from Green to Blue.)
