How do i put it in gem slot

Ok once im done making a tailsmen, how to i put in a empty slot for one of my weapons? I tried right clicking, draging it to the weapon, and so forth. Am i missing something here. Or do tailsmen have nothing to do with the gem slots on our weapons?

shift left click, or shift right click, cant remember :P also i had a bug where it wouldnt work unless the item was in my inventory when i shift right/left clicked.

would be nice if they would make it open from the char menu. don't really need that extra step of moving the item to the inventory
