View Full Version : Bound to player? WTH?

After this weekend, my witch hunter can't hand out the healing potions he makes. The 332 P and 500 HP pots say, in yellow, 'Bound to Player'. Then I bought a stack of 15 of the 500 HP pots from the AH, and they are 'Bound to Player' as well.

WTH? If they are bound to player, how did the seller get them into the AH? If they aren't, then why are any that land in my pack?

Naturally, bug reportting this has done nothing, no response.

None of the other potions I make or buy have this problem.

If you have a potion from a quest that is bound to player, and you make the same potions they go into the same stack and are then bound.

Empty your bags first, make the potions and then put them on the auction house. If you put them in the bank, they will bind to you when you take them out of the bank (or so my experience has been).

Also, I could not mail healing potions to an alt, so I had to put them on the auction house and have my alt buy them..

Your mileage may vary!

The weakest crafted healing potions are bind-on-pickup for some reason -- they're also BoP if you get them from a random world drop, unlike all the other random world drop (non-quest) potions I've seen.

When you make them with apothecary, they land in inventory as BoP but unbound, so you can put them on AH. However, if you ever split a stack or use one, it triggers the binding and binds them.

Seems like a mistake all around because no other non-quest potions seem to be bound.

Even just moving them from 1 slot in your inbentory to another will bind them to you. My level 6 engineer now has 35 +500 heal potions bound to her.

This really should be fixed.

They have come from Bind To Pick Up to Bound for me just by changing the location of the potion in my packs. This blows, maybe they should change the names of crafted ones, and BOP potions to begin with is just....stupid. BOP potions maybe from quests but not as loot or crafted.
