What weapon will you wield?

Now that we've seen some examples of Chaos weaponry, I wonder what kind of weapon you will prefer to use when you fight. This doesn't necessarily have to be just with chosen, it can be with any chaos class.

Personally, I know it's not that popular compared to others but in my opinion you just can't beat the feel of having a giant mace go crunch into your enemies. Despite that, I'm liking the concept art we saw of the pickaxes, so I feel my chosen will either wield the biggest mace mace possible, one that will stay crunchy even in milk, or a pickaxe/shield combo.

To be honest, when I saw the smaller thumb pictures of the picks I thought, "SWEET! SCYTHES!"... but alas.

In my mind I still see my Zealot ditching the piss-ant dagger and skull combo for a sweet-arse Scythe.

Mmmm well, Depends what class i end up with! i know orcs with choppa but what about big two handed axes? i got a thing for axes lol, think it's from slayers and stuff :) if not offensive black orc with some nasty two hander :)

I know we've seen examples of other races' weapons, and I've no doubt all races will have fun melee. The purpose of this thread was really to analyse the Chaos faction and weaponry.

From an aesthetical point of wiev, I'd go for dual-wielding axes. I've allways had something for Chaos Warriors with two axes.
But I know I'll go for whatever I feel is best from a gameplay perspective, unless the difference is very small.

Yeah, you allmost never see flails as weapons in RPGs. They're probably a real PITA to animate well.

I'm a big fan of 2 handed weapons. I expect to use a gigantic axe or sword, customized with as much fluff and chaos bits as possible.

I did sort of like the way the chosen was fighting in the cinematic. He used his legs and elbows to jab and disable, like a black orc, in conjunction with a giant crude mace, it was right on for me.

If theres a situation of an organized pvp battle, bringing a 1 hander and shield would also be a pretty good idea, with collision detection, you could make a wall of chosen =)

Thinking axe and shield as primary setup. But would love to see the Chosen be able to dual wield, then Id go Axe and Mace.

Like Critical stated, hoping they get the collision thing done right so you can see shield walls and glorious charges. Plus the visual of a wall of armed men and long shields standing atop a hill or ridgeline would be impressive.

Hopefuly a two handed sword and when need to use a shield a one handed axe. It depends on the stats/damage though, in the end it will be the best weapon regardless of type.

I used to be axe-fan a couple of years back but after seeing this (http://john6.jeeran.com/E-Wall-Namco-Nightmare.jpg) baby i changed my mind about my weapon of choise(and what classes i usually play in mmos). Always into huge, unpractical but cool looking swords snce then. And they(Mythic) say or at least hint that weapons of chosen crackle with demonic energy at high levels/ranks.

I'm thinking that i will be carrying 2 weapons: 2handed sword and 1handed sword+shield for just in case :wink:

I think, if chosen can duel wheild, it'd be a toss up between an ax and a mace combo (I loved the crescent/tzeentch symbol shaped silver ax) or 2 swords.

if not, a big 2 handed sword for me, and maybe a mace and a sheild for takeing hits.
However, if the do implement flails as it has been sugested, and chosen can use them, I'd take that over anything. Just not duelwheilding flails. thats just silly :p

I think I'm starting to lean towards axe main hand and either shield or pick off hand, depending on the situation. If it allows for that kind of interplay.

I normally go 2h with my heavy tanks, but I think this time I'm leaning towards a more defensive character. I may carry a 2h hammer or a spear, if they exist, just to appease that side of my personality.

Whatever does the best damage is what I'll use. Aesthetically speaking, I love scythes. They would look a little silly on a chaos chosen though. I'd love dual wielding, but most likely 2 handers will be the way to go. Again, axe, mace, sword... who cares. What works the best within the mechanics of the game.

Sorry to be a munchkin about this, but for me it really depends on how the mechanics of the class work out. Am I gonna be a bigger asset by focusing on offense, personally crushing faces, or defense, ie being a tactical presence that's hard to get rid of?

Barring a clear cut answer from there, a big, beefy 2H would be ideal, likely a mace or axe.
