Magic Essence

Just wondering how i make a magic essence. I have stacks of 5 or 10 or how ever many they say you need i then click on them with my hammer but nothing happens. What am i doing wrong?

If you have a stack of 5 or 10 (depending on which ones) right click on them and they should turn into the next one up till you get to the one you use for making talismans.

Yeah, my problem is that recently whenever I try to salvage 5 or 10 items, they disappear, but no essence appears... WTH?

You don't use the hammer to combine essences. Just right click a stack. Need 10 of the 1st type (? name) and 5 for the 2nd stage.

Ok, get the point... But why did 10 of them disappear when I actually used the hammer? :| Intended or bug?

Perhaps you were accessing a bank or merchant at the time?

Nothing has happened when I've tried to hammer them.

Happened to me twice within a couple of days. No vendor, no bank, no nothing, mostly standing in the middle of nowhere. And, even if there was a vendor - I had 15 items, 5 were left... If I vendored them, I'd have lost everything, and had a Yes/No box first (I haven;t deactivated it after accidentally selling sth valuable to vendor in beta ;))

I've noticed some essences have to be converted twice before you get one you can use in crafting. For instance right clicking on a stack of 10 of a certain essence makes another single essence, right clicking on 5 of the essence that was made yields a useable crafting essence.

10 Echoes (Green Bubble Icon) -> 1 Whisper
5 Whispers (Blue Bubble Icon) -> 1 Essence
1 Essence (Pink Bubble Icon) -> Weeeeeeeeeeee, i can craft stuff :)

To transform them, use rightclick (close bank/merchant-windows first)
All 3 Types can be stacked up to 100.

Sweet this was the question that's been bugging the hell out of me for the past 4 days. One more question. Does combining them count towards your salvaging skill or is just an inventory function any schlub can do?

The latter, it has no influence on your salvaging skill and anyone can do it.
