Items that can't be salvaged?

I know belts can't be salvaged, but now I've run into all kinds of green items including chest pieces and weapons all within my level range where when I try to salvage them nothing happens. anyone know why?

Yeah, I've encountered that very same problem. I'm guessing it's a bug and hopefully they will fix it some time soon, because that tradeskill is hard enough to level as it is, compared to ultra-seed-drop-cultivating.

It always seems to be shaman or orc/goblin items that I can salvage.

it seems pretty random / buggy right now because i have noticed that i have been able to break a belt down and had similar problems not breaking down various types of weapons and armor.

Everyone having trouble with salvaging, please remember to report it in-game to a CSR. It's very easy and they are nice people. They do not, however, read these forums because there are no official WAR forums. So if you want results, you must report it in-game.

I had a chat with one yesterday. They are aware of the belt thing and fixing it as fast as they can, so don't bother reporting that. However, they are very interested in hearing about other items not working with salvaging, such as green weapons, boots and stuff.
Remember though, some items have stat boosts even if they are not green (or better). These cannot be salvaged! I made that mistake more than once myself.

Which to me indicates that they intended belts to be salvageable. Jewelry, however, was never intended to be salvageable I think.

I've had issues with belts and jewelry in general.

I do wind up buying a lot of renown vendor gear to salvage, and as long as I pick something that I know will work (like gloves or boots) it usually turns out okay.

But I'll remember to file a ticket next time I see something odd. Thanks for the heads-up.

I have also encountered a couple blue chest pieces, blue boots, and blue daggers, as well as several green staffs (mostly orc/goblin). Of course I spent a lot of solo time farming the 1st or 2nd part of PQ's which yeild me about 15 gear drops per hour so I am probably getting more bugged gear then the average person, but I've also noticed all the gear rank 21 and above I have not had any that were unsalvagable other then the 3 I noted above that are never able to be salvaged.

My bank was this way for a long time. Sadly i got rid of a ton of stuff because i ran out of room, and patience.

Im sure that the belts are unsalvageable because they are considered an acc item type similar to jewelry which should not be salvageable.

I have definately had belts and rings that could be salvaged. I just try and salvage everything now since you just never know. I used to think that items you got from PQ bags were always salvageable but recently I got a green bag in the Chapter 8 Chaos PQ and choose the gloves for salvage. Naturally those were bugged too and I wasted my bag on an item that I just ended up vendoring.

I would do CSR tickets but it just seems like a monumental task. I collect 10-15 items at a time and then try salvaging them all at once. Out of the 10-15 items I always end up with 2-3 unsalvagable ones. The unsalvagable items make no sense that I can see. I have been able to salvage purple belts but not been able to salvage blue chaos axes.

I believe that it isnt the items but the salvaging skill itself that is bugged. Reporting each item that can not be salvaged seems a complete waste of time.

Had a clean out last night of the things in the bank that I'd collected over the last week that weren't salvageable and a few things I'd picked recently up whilst grinding for level 15 items to salvage for fragments. Anyhow could just be coincidence but all the 'of the Wicked' items I picked up were unsalvageable whilst everything else salvaged OK. Could just be a conincidence though.

yep , looks like all lvl15 items are bugged and not salvageable... got like 10 of them from AH, could salvage none of them... hehe relisted tenm...and they sold almost immediately

Not all, as I've happily been salvaging some level 15 items that I'd picked up elsewhere prior to this. Didn't notice the 'branding' at that time though.

I have 3 items (a sword and 2 shoulder armor pieces) that can't be salvaged and they all have "of the Wicked" in their names, so that must be the problem. I will be reporting it in game but just wanted to post here fyi.

Had blue shoulders, lvl 15 for SH, Shouldateef of the Depraved that I couldn't salvage, while a pair of green shoulders were quite ok to salvage. Shoulders seems to be a gamble on whether they can be salvaged or not.

Bug reported the blue shoulders above and got the somewhat surprising answer that it was Working as Intended that they could not be salvaged.

The answer also included a direction for me to go read the forums. When asked which they meant, they gave me the list of the fan forums.

There are two jewelry items I've found that can be salvaged, both are lvl 35.

In the Inevitable City library where the various unlocks are sold, one of the vendors sells set piece jewelry. Currently I have 2 of these unlocked, but both can be salvaged resulting in 150 fragments for a cost of 33s each.

I don't think I've come across anything not labeled as "Accessory" that couldn't be salvaged, but I have been able to salvage some accessories.
