I've been using cultivating to support my apothecary, but for the most part I find I don't really care about the potions I get from this profession, and have been debating dropping cultivating for butchering.

My main concern was whether the ticks and fleas create direct healing potions or the healing over time kind? WarDB did not shed any light on this, but I would prefer direct healing potions.

Also any reason not to drop cultivating? I don't want to drop it and find out I've made a huge mistake down the road?

You'll be able to make both heal over time potions and direct healing potions with butchering. For restoration components you want to kill wolves, for direct heal components you'll want to kill great cats as well as pegasi and a few other creatures.

Butchering seems a lot easier than cultivation. All you get is apothecary ingredients and some nutrients, and you know what creatures you need to farm to get what components.

Cultivation seems like more of a high effort, high reward type of system.

Thanks for the info.

What do you mean by "high reward"? I know there's the rare pigments you can get, and obviously the larger potion pool to choose from, but besides that is there anything I'm missing?

Rare pigments would seem to be the major thing...I'm not a cultivator so I couldn't fill you in on any of the specifics but it's a system that's designed to be able to produce special bonuses that reward you effort. I'd exp[ect rare dyes would be one of the few craftables that could sell for high amounts...maybe some of the high end talismans too, but then that's also a lot of work. Oh yeah, I think cultivators grow something needed to make talismans or talisman supplies?

In terms of potion types I'm not sure if cultivating offers much / anything that butchering doesn't. We get stabilisers, size enhancers, duration enhancers, and a really really good range of mains.

Well thanks again! I think you've sold me on butchering.

To your qeustion about cultivation: You can get pigments, as well as make special seeds that have a realy high chance of regrowing thmselves.

But butchering seems a bit better. Anyone notice if one can butcher to get soil? Or is that som other way (please dont say PQ only).
