why do the admin's close a thread if they feel its going no where, maybe new issues will rise, or some people might acually like reading pointles stuff

Main reason is if there is already a thread on the same subject. Sometimes they may feel the arguments got a little to heated.

I think Horvak got pretty close to hitting the nail on the head.

As much as we adore reading pointless stuff, I'm sure people can do that at their own leisure with as many spam pamphlets as they can pick up in their arms from their local information centre.

However, here, it's more of a case of trying to keep on topic. So please try. We do our bit by halting the pointlessness and keeping it confined to the Off Topic section, so please do try to find out if there's already a topic discussing what you want to, and that your topic is wholly relevant.

I bring you darkness.
