Ooo, looks nice. I notice he's carrying a 2hander. Maybe the Chosen will end up as an offensive tank? Can't wait to get a skill list or some PVP footage of the Chosen.

We've known all along he could use 2handers. But, if they say he's gonna be a defensive tank, then thats what he'll be.
However, a defensive tank in WAR terms is not the same in most games. All classes, including tanks and support classes will be able to crack skulls. Think of a WAR tank not of a tank in normal MMOs, but of a tank in a real war. It's very heavily armored, true, like tanks in MMOs. It also has a freakin' cannon on top, which WAR is defiantly including. The Chosen may be more defensive than say, the Black Orc, but the Ironbreaker is also labeled defensive, and he seems to pack quite a whallop.

The way I would classify an Offensive or Defensive tank in war is based off this: Reactive or Proactive play.
Reactive play for me means that you can only 'dish-out-the-hurt' in certain circumstances. For example, the Ironbreaker dishes out his hurt if people are ignoring him. I think that is going to be somewhat like how a Chosen works too, i.e., his powers come to the fore if the enemy does something to meet his prerequisites.
Proactive (Offensive) tank would be a tank who can dish out the hurt largely at will, such as a Black Orc's knockdown and CC-ish abilities, he doesn't necessarily have to do something or have something done to him before he can trigger these abilities.

i just hope it will be able to do both those things (as tanks were able to do in daoc)
1)Protect his mates in rvr: guard, intercept, taunt, disables
2)Dish a good ammount of dmg
I hope it will be similar to an hybrid hibernian hero or a warrior from midgard, so that he can use both s/s and 2h with the same spec. For those who have not played daoc:
an hybrid hero or a warrior could dish a nice ammount (or a very high ammount of dmg in the case of the hero) of dps with a 2hander, then swithc to weapon+shield in the middle of a fight to shieldstun or guard a support mate. It was a nice class to play...and can onl get better, considering that war classes can do a lotta more things than daoc classes could.

still a bit uneasy about the single repetitive auto-attack animation.

QFT. Good explanation.

The Description has the Chosen with some spells from the Raven God.. i dont think hes gonna be that defensive personally. Obviously not the dps machine the marauder will be. But hes not gonna be a proto tank from wow there too.

From the sound of it, I think the class will end up a lot like a Champion from DAOC.
Offensive debuffs with good melee dps. Not the best dps but still pretty damn good damage.

droooool =)
that looked awsome
i think the word tank in WAR is equal to what a knight was in medivel times.
armored and dangerous
slow but hard hitting

Looks good but deff needs more attack animations. Seeing the same exact swing over and over wasn't that exciting.
still a bit uneasy about the single repetitive auto-attack animation.
ditto, but that's probably just his auto-attack

Actually, the Chosen will be a DEFENSIVE tank, BUT!, He will be able to dish out a good amount of damage and use OFFENSIVE magic, and will have very high armor. So he should be more categorized as a Tanker-DPSer-Maguslike Chosen of Chaos :p
