Will we be underplayed?!

honestly i think the empire will be very underplayed and could leave us vulnerable in the RvR aspect, i am sure this has been mentioned before in the forums, i just want to get a direct response from people. First off not alot of people like playing MMO's just to be humans, why would u want to be a human in game when u can be something completely different than u are in real life?! i enjoy being humans in games. second of all, i am not sure but it sounds like chaos is going to be the highest played race, which leaves us again at another disadvantage in the RvR aspect. i believe overall destruction will overpopulate Order, by a large margin, maybe im just reading things wrong and thinking is off, let me know what you think.

Looking at WoW's racial percentage is smart. Alot of people will be coming over from WoW to WAR. If you look at WoW's Alliance population, humans and night elves take up about 36% of the population EACH. Now think about it...humans and elves....
Not alot of people like dwarfs, even though they are pretty cool, think about what the MASSES like.
Now get THIS! We have humans and elves, and Destruction has humans and elves..but they are EVIL humans and elves. And chaos looks really cool with their big armor and big swords and how they are the bad guys..and dark elves are closer to night elves, while high elves are....high elves (Legolazx lol).

But we really don't know. Atleast people will have the choice to be good humans/elves or bad humans/elves. We must trust time.

Indeed. When Mythic first released the information about the dwarfs and greenskins, endless amounts of dwarf- and greenskin-only guilds popped up everywhere. Now, I would be surprised if more than 1/5 of them are left. Because people have started getting bored of them, quite frankly (remember I don't mean everyone, there are still a couple of true dwards/orcs/goblins out there). Now it seems most people are interested in either Empire or Chaos because, basically, they're new, and I suspect the same thing happening when the elf races are released too.

Greenskins are going to be really overpopulated, everyone wants in on a 'waaaagh', and god help anyone who gets in the way of it, especially if its led by an organised warboss who knows what he's doing

Personally I think it would be better if there would be less people on the Empire side. There would be more chances to create closer smaller regiments and easier to lvl especially with the PvE side of things. All we would need is some good strategic regiments that combined all the empire careers. And this one career only regiments are a bad idea because they are too restricted and could only do well in certain situations. The only time this would be good is if you had an alliance of a couple one-career regs. from the very beggining.

I doubt they'll be overpopulated, but I can't see them being too underpopulated either. look at how popular Witchhunters and WP's are.

Empire has a fair bit of appeal. The race I'd be really worried about is Dwarves, but it sounds like they're madly OPed right now, so that may not be an issue :p

The number of posts for each class should give you a fair idea of the level of interest. Consider also that Dwarf and Greenskin classes have been released for longer and you get:

Empire (4481) >> Chaos (3197) > Greenskins (2835) >> Dwarves (1737).

I wouldnt be surprised if Empire and Chaos outnumber the other two by 2 or 3 to 1 on some servers. Poor old Dwarves are in for a rough time if these numbers are any reflection. The best thing I can say about the above figures if if you total the two order numbers and the two destruction numbers together they are fairly close (Order 6218 > Destruction 6032). Might mean servers have a chance of even populations.

EDIT: Elves are always popular in MMOs so I would place them somewhere between Empire and Greenskins.

There is no way that Empire will be underplayed. Most of the herd do not read forums and do not watch games until they are released. Empire will be a good sized population unless, they are completely awful.

We won't be underplayed... I actually forsee all classes being pretty equal with their counterparts except for the dwarves, their not going to be too popular with most people.

But they will make up for it with all the hardcore Dwarf loving fans there are out there, pretty much everyone who plays them are hardcore Dwarf lovers so they will put up a good fight.

Not very accurate, High elves are actually more popular then Dark Elves in TT. However, there current rules make high elves very lack luster and dark elves remain by a thread. That being said the new high elf stuff is coming out in Autumn and i have a sneaking suspicion that Mythic might have some information from it.

P.S. Wood elves have excellent rules right now and are currently the more widely played of the 3 Elves.

I'm having a real hard time trying to pick any race other than human.

Say what you will about them..Humans have always attracted me even though im pretty much all human in real life. They may be average and boring or w/e. But there is just something about humans that i find appealing.
They're surrounded by enemies, outnumbered, physically weaker than pretty much all other races and chaos knocking on their door ever so often. Yet they never give up..they keep fighting against impossible odds and most of the time come out victorious in the end..sometimes by sheer willpower.

To me the human spirit is cooler than any magic the elves have or demons of the chaos gods. Human spirit > all .. :mrgreen:

At this moment everyone loves the Chaos and they have such a strong following from tabletop warhammer. Everyone loves orcs and WAR's Orcs are even different. Empre will be a well rounded population. Since the elves are two races the population for each will be split between themselves. And no one likes little stunties...

I meant in regards to the Elves in LOTR being displayed as 'perfect humans.' I.e., people who are constantly correct and have never done a thing that is wrong, that they are above reproach, that they are gorgeous and that their beauty is un-marred.

Does that clear up what I mean?

People see a few movies and suddenly think they are experts on LOTR. :rolleyes:
