Is there any reason to train this?

Scavenging seems like it would be useful, but only near the end of the game, since that is when you would find the best items to help out your other crafting jobs.

Unlike Magicial Salvaging, in which you can't salvage items if they are over your level, Scavenging doesn't seem to have this requirement, so I wonder if you even need to pick it up early on or if you can wait until your level 40 and pick it up then. Even if you pick it up early, the only reason to use it a lot would be to get more items for the other crafting jobs you have.

If you have ways to get those items anyways, why even use it? A little more pocket money in exchange for bag space?

Well, what else would you rather take? Keep in mind that anything you level up, would be lost if you switched to Scavenging at 40. That seems like a bigger waste of time than just not getting anything until then.

You can scavenge any mob BUT you can only get items that are equal to your level of scavenging and not higher then the level of the mob.

You will get the same items from a level 1 mob and a level 40 mob if you scavenging is at level 1.
