While watching the podcast, paul mentioned something about a magus spell, where he uses the death of an enemy player to summon a horror? Im not sure if I heard that right, and as is forum tradition, rather than bother to go watch the podcast again, im posting a topic about it! :D
(im not well versed in magus ways, but this spell interests me)
anyone want to fill me in?

Thats the first ive heard of it.
He called it "Feed my God" which is a hilarious name. Im just hoping its not implemented the way he described it. If it was it would literally one shot you.

The tabletop equivalent is called the Indigo Fire of Change - the second most difficult spell to cast in the Lore of Tzeentch, with the hardest being an instant death spell which sends the victim to the Realm of Chaos.
Indigo Fire of Change
Cast 11+; Rng 18"; All models in unit take St2 hit; Any kills turned into horrors which count as charging unit (form into identically wide unit)

I don't think it'll be an instant kill, that'd be way too unfair. I think it's just something you could cast on an enemy with low HP, and the spell kills them while it's still casting ( the lightning might work the same way Arcane Missiles does in WoW ) then the horror effect will go off. Sounds pretty awesome! Makes me wanna play Magus.

Sounds awesome. And yes, it sounds like something you'd use on an injured opponent. One-shots (and two-shots and three-shots) suck.

I see more like, a curse sorta spell, and if they die while under the effects, the horror stuff happens. The lightning is there to just... scoot things along. So many weaklings to kill, so little time. You know how it is.

I am picturing this like a WoW Warlock "Drain Soul" spell (which was channeled) - only instead of a - soul shard, you rip a horror out of their spine! F*ck yeah.

Most likely this is a Morale spell it could be a limited time spell you mark someone with and if they die while this mark is on them they turn into a Horror.

smart guy, that sounds exactly like what he was explaining, and what i had in mind. as for the table top game, i played warhammer 40k. i hope the magus get a spell to summon forth a daemon spawn similar to the daemon spawn in 40k, they were the pride of my army.

I wonder if the Horror will last till its death or as long as he's in combat or both? Makes the class pretty interesting imo

Well yeah, I'd say so too, but I hope it's more complicated! (Complicated = Tzeentch, as we all know heh)

I'd be perfectly happy with a timed life bar that is filled back up by attacking.

If this spell is implemented well that makes the Magus Clint Eastwood bad a$$.
I wonder if the Horror is a pink or a blue? Does it become an NPC or does it follow the Magus? Questions, questions.

Horrors wold be more like allies and spawn's more just random monsters. At least in the TT game a Chaos Spawn would just randomly move forward and then start attacking the closest living thing in it's way after that IIRC.

Ya I think it will be curse if there is that kind of spell. Dunno if I wanna any summon spells but I take anything good that they give my magus. I will corrupt every soul to get my army going.

I think the horror will probably just hit people a few times and disappear or something. But it would be pretty cool if people actually had to kill them and then they would follow the Magus around biting his opponents.
So if you killed like 6 people in a row you could have a little army of Horrors bouncing around behind you ready to zerg someone. :)

It seems to me like it might work as standing where it was spawned, but having an aggro radius. So when it spawns, it'll attack stuff in the area, but won't follow you around like a pet.
man.. just the idea of an horror under my control will be awesome.. damn i wanna play this game....

I have heard that the chosen get something similar in one of their tactics. It was along the lines if they get the killing blow with this special sword they get, then a horror comes from the dead body.

If you want to see the Horror spell in action it shows up in one of the War-Welten movies.

At the 3:45 mark you see the Horror summoned next to the magus. It just sits there and does nothing so I guess you have to either command it (which was beyond this guy's abilities) or you have to get an enemy close to it. I don't think the tard knew what he was casting, but it is plainly a Horror of Tzeentch. It disappears 15 seconds later. It is a big file but it is worth it. The Zealot that recorded it has a bad outfit with a cool metal beak on the hood.

Well, I played the magus quite a few times during GC. The spell actually works like this: you target an enemy and channel the spell for 10 seconds, the enemy receives some slight damage. If you're hit, the channeling might be broken. If the enemy dies while under the effect of the spell, he turns into the horror. The horror will ONLY attack nearby enemy players, you cannot control it howsoever, at least in the current stage.

im guessing it was a cooldown on the spell that equals the lenght of time the horror is alive. haveing an uncontrolable killing machine is nice, but to many and it would be OP
