Choppa CHOPPING!!

Not sure if this has been pointed out or not but some good eye candy and a taste of what Choppa special abilites will be like. http://war.warcry.com/news/view/73393-Baltimore-Games-Day-Warhammer-Online-Videos at 11:08 in the top movie it shows a choppa..well..CHOPPING! Lol it looks really neat like an engineers focused fire ability, i HAD to point this out it was just to cool looking to go unnoticed. Enjoy :D

Update: Last week a video was released over at gamespot.com with a close up of this ability in action. Very cool indeed, also note the sound effects of slashing blades. :twisted:

LOL yeah very boring but if you looked around at the battle field you can see that they werent kidding when they said WAR is everywhere. ME LIKEY ME LIKEY!! :cool:

Yea and it does seem like it takes a bit to take out people which is good in my opinion.

Just imagine what you saw in that vid but only with hundreds of people fighting. Makes me wanna go:

Nice. I'm learning towards Choppa right now with Black Orc a close 2nd I guess. But that will probably flip flop and who knows how elves will look.

Me too. I think choppa suits my playing style perfectly(spamming attacks and not worrying about anything else :p)

Don't think you'll be just spamming away there, boy. Every class will require skill and strategy, it's just that the Choppa's strategy is pretty straight-forward.:p

I'm definately going for a Choppa now. They look like so much fun to play. And from those videos you can tell that most fights will be of a decent length so its not like you can just press a few buttons in preparation and 1 shot your enemy. These will actualy require skill.

I am definately going Choppa once release comes. The idea of a berzerking frenzy just makes me want to play a choppa more. Also, the idea of a community that isn't full of drooling idiots is a good thing too. The only reason i still play WoW is because my friends play it, but too bad, once this comes out, i'm putting my 15$ a month to something better. Oh, and also, first post!

Nice, have not seen those 2. I dunno, after watching the "Chopping" animation a few times. I think I like just the look of the normal attack better. The animation looks incredibly fake to me, there is no way you could do much damage attacking like that ... I hope it gets some lovin' at some point ;)

And the berserk sound could be improved ... to have different WAAAGH! cries instead of that crappy human sounding yell.

I rather liked the brutish yell the Choppa was making when he went berserk. There should be cries of "WAAAGH!" somewhere but maybe that should be limited to Black Orcs as rallying cries (since dere da warbosses).

That wasn't a "brutish yell". It was a stupid yell that sounded like some humie struggling with something. WAAAAGH! is yelled by all orcs, and it should be an emote as well as a sound to follow along with certain abilities, such as the Choppa's berserk.

He needs a more appropriate sound.

I disagree about the yell (it makes me think drunken pissed-off British hooligan, which is a bonus in my book), but on the topic of WAAGH!, you wouldn't want it to get too played out, right?

Played out? They're the freaking Greenskins. They WOULD NOT be Warhammer Greenskins without the WAAAAAAAAGH! It's thier battlecry, what they call thier magic, and what they call thier invasions! They yell it all the time. If you think it gets "played out", then you shouldn't be a Greenskin! Hell, it doesn't even sound like WAAAAAGH! to me, it's not suppose to! It sounds like a monsterous, blood curdling howl/roar.

And orcs are not some G'damned green humans. They're monsters, bloodthirsty monsters that howl like monsters, not some futbol hooligans.

It'll get played out when there's only 3 to 5 audio samples of it and it gets used on every roar. It's a bit different when playing the TT and people are having fun shouting at each other.

I dunno; just casting my vote for the meathead howl of the current Choppa videos. Now, the animation of the channeled chopping attack... that I'd like to see changed.

Go play Dawn of War. The Orcs ALL yell WAAAAGH! every stinkin' time the engage in melee combat. It is freakin' great! It never gets old. This is what I think would be awesome in this game. Even if there were only 3-5 WAAAGH! sounds, the more Orcs you had, the more WAAAGH!ing there would be. You could even have Goblin cries too.

And if there is one time to yell, WAAAAGH! it would definitely be for berserking. As I said before, the current berserk noise is NOT brutish or Orcish in any way shape or form. Watch the WAR video and listen to the Orcs grunting to eachother at the catapult, that is what it should sound like (like the "Fire!" when they release him).

Also, I don't know why some people think Black Orcs are the only war bosses and are always the war bosses. That is entirely untrue. Black Orcs are far less in numbers than normal Orcs, while yes, they are strong and become war bosses a lot (because of their size and strength), there are still Gobbo and normal Orc bosses too. Not to mention, Orcs get darker in color the more strong/old/powerful become. So in the end, many Orcs do look like Black Orcs. Black Orcs simply refer to the Orcs created/enslaved by the Chaos Dwarves, not just dark colored Orcs.

And yea, the "Choppin" animation needs help. It looks like one of those mechanical monkeys playing a drum or something. Looks really bad :P

That battlecry was just horrible, didn't sound orcish at all. The animation could use a bit of work but only after the battlecry. The best part of the video was the Squig charging in for sure.
