I know there's a relation between the level of an item and the skill level required to craft with the fragment it produces, but does anyone know what the exact levels are where the fragment level switches to the next one? I'm trying to level my talisman making along with my salvaging and this information would help speed the process

EDIT: Well I did a little bit of testing and so far it seems items level 7 and below salvage into skill level 1 fragments, not sure if anything above that does as well, I need to find more low level greens

I *believe* it goes like this:

1-9, 1
10-14, 25
15-19, 50
20-24, 75
25-29, 100
30-34, 125
35-38, 150
39-40, 175?

Not 100% at the bottom or very top of the scale, though. I know 35-38 is 150 skill most of the time at least, and 39 is 175.. but I'd imagine there should be 200 skill frags.

That looks pretty close, but I can confirm that Level 17 gives a Fragment 50, while 19 gives a 75 Fragment.

I wonder if it is 9-13 and 4-8 as the brackets. That would make it consistent with my findings at for level 17 and 19 items and yours at later levels.

1-8 - Level 1
9-13 Level 25
14-17 Level 50
18 ???
19-21 Level 75
22 ???
23-27 Level 100

What I've seen from my experience so far. This is only for green items. A blue item will give a higher level fragment a level or 2 before a green will and a purple item will give a higher level fragment 2 or 3 levels before a green will.

lvl 40 uncommon renown gear with RR 28 requirement yields lvl 175 skill fragments. I haven't had the opertunity to salvage anything with 40+ renown rank to see if skill level 200 fragments exist. I have obtained some skill level 200 curios and gold dust though (uncommon and common only at this point).

Another point to make about magical salvaging is that each skill level also has varyious categories for fragments. For example, some wound fragments have the suffix "Sand", "Stone", "Pebble" and "Orb". Stone is better than sand and pebble is better than stone etc etc. They all carry they same skill level but increase the chance of proccing a better quality talisman. i.e. uncommon orbs have a higher chance to proc a rare talisman than pebbles do.

You will also notice with salvaging wounds, in particular I have noticed, that some item levels will consistently yield white quality fragments and others green quality. So basically, for every Talisman Making level requirement, up to skill 125, you have item levels which always give you white sand, uncommon sand, white stone, uncommon stone. Skill levels 150 and 175 have sand, stone, pebble and orb. pebbles and orbs are more common with lvl 40 items.

It is all rather confusing and not worth summarising in a tabular format. Purely because wounds follows a different pattern to every other stat. I can't find a single green item which will give me anything better than white fragments consistently for any other stat. lvl 40 renown greens give me white fragments for toughness, willpower, strength, weapon skill, balistic skill and resistances. If I buy 50 lvl 40 greens and salv them all, I get 1 green quality willpower fragment. It's completely borked.

Level 23 greens are producing skill 75 fragments for me. I've been buying level 21 renown reward boots to grind out 75 fragments.

I'm level 25 now and am at about 97 for talismans and I've been debating between grinding or waiting until I can melt down a few of the pieces I'm wearing. I think I only have 1 level 23 that's not an accessory left though. I've got a ton of stuff in the bank for skill 100 ;)

There seems to be agreement on 25 being skill 100, but anyone know about 24 stuff?

There is some variation with your skill level. I was getting 175 frags at skill lvl in the 170's with lvl 37 item and then when skill got up to about 180 started getting 150 frags consistently.

Yeah I've seen similar, which boggles the mind, since you'd hope to be getting higher level fragments from better skill.
