Umm is it just me, or is that chosen not big and burly like he is in the game? If they have slimmer chosen then maybe then can make a weight/size option for all models? Just a thought I dont care either way.

He looks friggen huge to me. He towers a good foot, or two feet above the priest. Plus, the trailer was made a LOT longer than the chosen now, so things are a bit different

If you look at the page I've linked, and scroll down to the Aug. 16th, 2006 video, the description says it's just a chaos warrior, not a chosen.

When I first saw that video, I thought it was a chosen too, but his armor didn't look as large as the chosen concept art.

Chosen and Chaos Warriors are the same. "Chosen" just sounds cooler. With all the cool and very specific class names Mythic used, they couldn't very well call a class "Warrior".

Anyway, the movie has next to nothing to do with the actual game. It was made while the game was still in its infancy and was mostly made just to get people pumped, not to be an exact representation of what the game would be like.

The Chosen in the movie does seem to have a slimmer waste and longer legs..
Chaos Warriors usually look rounder with kind of short limbs(Maybe because of armor?)

I like the look in the movie more though actually.

well actually a chosen is different from a normal chaos warrior, he is "CHOSEN"
in the original table top warhammer a chosen gets a better armor save and 1 extra attack.

if you dont know what amor save is then here:
amor save is the ability to throw a dice when you have been hit by a attack and then hope for the armor to absorb the attack .
a 4+ mean that you can throw a dice and if its 4-5-6 the attack is absorbed.

making a chosen better as a "tank" but stilla good offensive warrior b/c of the extra attack =)

A quick summary:

A chosen is WAY stronger then a chaos warrior

I have to agree. A Chosen in the fluff lore is someone selected by the Chaos Gods/God to fight for their cause.

They are granted extra "gifts"/powers/mutations. Also in the fluff lore ( not TT ) Chosen can be anyone who has proven to be a devout and worthy follower of a Chaos god or all Chaos gods.

So that technically means that a caster could in theory be a "Chosen"/Champion of Chaos if they have proven that they can get results and are worthy of the extra gifts granted to them. Also let's remember that in fluff every Chaos followers goal is to eventually achieve Daemonhood and you can only do so if you have become a champion of Chaos in the first place. That's how I read/viewed it anyways.

I was rather partial to his big-stick-of-doom-and-hitting-things with +6 SPIKES AND PAIN.

Yeah it was a shame it got so easily knocked out of his hand. Even though he was using it with his chaos empowered hand.

Also keep in mind, Mythic didn't make that trailer. Blur did. It was their interpretation, which is why the Chosen looked the way it did, and also why the Witch Elf was in there.

you dont think mythic told them what classes to put in the trailer? i think they told them to make a trailer with the most iconic characters in it. blur then looked at the warhammer art and did a pretty amazing job.

I'm to lazy to read the whole thing beucase i just got off work and I'm tired but here i go.

In some video clip some where with that guy who's all cool and usually is the one in all the video clips that are actually good ones, he says that, that was the first chose for the look of the chosen, but they decided to make him more curvy and bigger, taller, fatter, and just plain more evil. The one we get now is supposed to be a little taller and abit wider, and thats from the horses mouth. I think its the one where he talks about them using magic.

His combat was well done, but in terms of appearance, Mark of Chaos slaughtered him.

The Chaos guy (substituted guy to avoid confusion) is not a Tzeentch follower. He is a follower of Chaos Undivided. For those who don't play TT a chaos follower who dedicates himself to Chaos Undivided, does not seek the favour of one single God, but wishes to appease all of them through general acts of depravity and malice. Chaos Undivided followers have characteristically black armour, adorned with gold, silver and lots of spikes.

The Chaos Chosen in the concept art and footage are followers of Tzeentch, whose armour is more curvy, less spiky and sometimes, not as big as the others. Tzeentch is a master of treachery and prefers, sneaky underhanded ways of doing his work, unlike some of the other Gods. Which is why they look so different.

The biggest difference between them lies in the fact that the Chaos Warrior from the trailer is based on art from Warhammer version 5, whereas the newer designs are more in style with version 6 or 7.

I agree that the chaos warriors in the Mark of Chaos video where much sweeter, but then again they were chosen of Khorne...so therefore are just more awesome in general haha. But in all seriousness the chaos warrior in our cinematic is based on a very good looking picture in the current hordes of chaos army book for Table Top

I'm normally just a forum lurker, but Tzeentch isn't the god of treachery, he is of hope, change, optimism and adaption.

lol hope and optimism xD Tzeentch is the Chaos god of change, sorcery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_%28paranormal%29), Machiavellian scheming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machiavellianism) and subtle manipulation; his nicknames thus include the Changer of Ways, the Grand Schemer, and the Lord of Sorcery. He may represent hope and optimism to some people since he is the antithesis of Nurgle who is Chaos god of death, disease and decay.

Imo the Chaos Warrior in the clip, or Chosen Undivided or whatever he is called looks alot cooler. All the chosen look like fatties, reminds me of marines in Star Craft. The guy in the clip looked more realistic, but mainly, he look ALOT MORE EVIL, looked like Sauron, with his red glowing eyes and spiky features.
