Well, I couldn't find anything on this.. but it may have been asked before. I'm not exactly up on my Warhammer lore etc. I was curious; what kind of architecture and armour will Dark Elves use? I'd like to know what the Dark Elf areas will be like. What will their buildings look like? Will the Dark Elf areas have the whole dark-sky and shadows theme? What colours/themes will their armour have? I kind of liked the way Dark Elves were in Lineage2. But anyway, could anyone "enlighten" me as to what Dark Elves will be like in WAR?

P.S; What colour skin to they have? I think I heard it was extremely pale, but I could be wrong.

Well, as far as the Dark Elves in Warhammer Online are concerned, there is not much to go on yet. They should be releasing some concept art, screenshots, character designs this summer (Most likely August) in the Warhammer Online newsletter.

Until then, some sources you can check out..

Well, from the existing Dark Elf art from the TT Army Book, I think we can point to a couple things as Dark Elf themes:

1. Stark differences between cities and wilderness. Most DE live in a few big cities - Har Ganeth, Klar Garrond, Naggoroth, etc. - which are very built-up; a very few live in the wilderness.

2. Cities/architecture - tall/vertical, very drawn out, lots of towers looming above narrow streets, lots of spiky battlements and such. Lots of gruesome stuff - temples to Khaine, flayed-skin banners hanging over the walls of the noble houses, slave auction blocks. Colors - mostly dark colors, lots of black, dark grey, dark blues. This should contrast a lot with very vivid reds/purples/pink/green/etc. decorations, banners, clothing, etc.

3. Wilderness - rocky soil, very mountainous, lots of pine trees, quite cold and a lot of snow on the ground. Not much in the way of color, greens and browns should be very muted dark colors, snow should be very stark. Lots of harsh angular lines, contrasts between straight trees, jagged rock outcroppings, etc.

4. Sky should be not so much dark as overcast, very grey and windswept. Of course, there's also the northern lights, which should add a unique look.

5. Armor - very spiky, almost carapace-like. The metal itself should be steel grays, bright golds, shiny silvers, or glossy or matte black. Alternatively, it could also be died a bright red or a vivid purple or something like that. Dark Elves often have quite visible clothing with their armor - leggings and cloaks and tabards and whatnot. Again, colors should be things like blood red, black or dark blue, vivid purples, etc.

Why? They look just like the High Elf helmets. Tall and bullet-shaped, to fit the shape of thier heads.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d126/Morloth112/new%20pics/city.jpg This bulding is kinda typical dark elvish. Their most buildings are tall spiky and mostly black, gray, dark blue.

Their "official" colouring is silverish armour, black and purple clothes. Their most clothing is pretty dark aswell as their buildings etc.

Their skin is very pale, since they live in the land of chill and it's pretty cold up there and not much sun around. They are not black/grey or blueish like the dark elves are in the most other fantasy settings

Not really. The High Elves look like the Coneheads, whereas the Druchii helmets are curved backwards, more like a talon than a bullet.

Their heads aren't tall and bullet-shaped. Have you seen them without their helmets? The helmets are a stylistic approach at a practical utility, similar to their pauldrons or any part of their armor or architecture.

I always thought the helms were a stylized play on Roman or Greek Style helms, and in some twisted ways the Elves of Warhammer almost resemble a Roman society. (Same way the Empire is very german, Chaos Nordic, etc..)

Well I've always seen it is a very Greek-based culture where the Asur are Athens and it's allied city-states and the Druchii are Sparta and Ulthuan is Atlantis. Among other things, Elf warships resemble trieriemes.

Found a nice dark elf-style tower (http://www.visionscenics.com/dioramas.html).

Why it's standing next to a railroad I have no idea though. :p
