Things I've noticed:
1: When I was in T1 my scavenging maxxed out somewhere between 40-60. Even though I was killing same or higher level mobs, scavenging stayed the same. Once I went into T2 it went up again.
2: I recently switched from cult to scav on my main due to a lack of high level stabilizers. When I was in IC killing mobs about 7 levels lower than me (quests) I could scavenge corpses but got no skillups. (maybe 1-2 after many mobs)
However: Once I moved to T3 and same/higher level mobs the skill began to move steadily upwards. I hit 74 in half an hour before I logged off.
3: Even though I was scavenging higher level mobs I was collecting level 1-15 items for a long time. As my skill rose I began to collect level 50ish items. I finally ended somewhere around level 75 items.
Recap:
· There seems to be a tier limit or NPC level limit to what level you can raise scavengery skill.
· There is a direct correlation betwen your level and NPC level where you can get skill ups when they are within the NPC/Tier's range. This means scavenging equal/higher level mobs will yield skill points anywhere between level 1 and the max NPC/Tier skill allowance.
· Thanks to this system you can take scavenging at any level without worrying about farming low level PQ's for Tier 1 seeds or green items.
· If you start scavenging at level 40, level 40 mobs will yield level 1 components. You don't have to go searching for new mobs because this one yields crappy items. The items this NPC yields will be better as your skill rises.
