What are you expecting this month about high elves?

I'd love to see everything I could about elves, but here is a rundown of my priorities:

From most wanted to least wanted -
1. Names of the elf classes
2. Concept arts / screens of the classes
3. Descriptions of the elf classes
4. Concept art / screens of elven weapondry and beastry
5. Descriptions of elf zones, capitals being most important (with screens)
6. All extra background info, lore, extras

I was really only expecting to get the names of the classes, no screenshots or anything. I would be quite glad to know the names of the classes by the end of the summer, because EA Mythic's tight-lipped stance on the elves is kinda worrying me especially as the game is schedule to release in first quarter of 2008.

Just because they don't have the elf classes announced does no mean they haven't already had a good run at creating the zones and tweaking them. It just means they want to focus testing other things first to make them better. Elves will get their chance in the lime light.

I think the elves are going to be the pairing thats the best done because the devs would have made all the mistakes on the other 2 pairings and they will know alot more than they did when they started the other 2. There going to have to be quite fast to get the game out for Q1 2008 and for the past few months they have only been giving out one class at a time and if they carry on doing that for the elves its going to take 8 months.

Even if they give a full description of one of the classes this month its not going to work.
In the second part of 2006 they were giving out 2 classes a month but I don't know why they stopped doing that.

Folks,

All races/classes will be in Beta at some point just not right away. We will want the beta testers (especially early on) to focus on specific pairings (and sometimes specific character configurations) to help us test stuff. One of the things we will do in this beta that we didn't do with DAoC is really focus the testers more on a smaller subset of stuff rather than just letting them jump into a gigantic pond, handing them a paddle and wishing them good luck! In terms of hearing the DEs/HEs scream because we got to them late, ain't going to happen. That pairing is too important to us going forward to mess t up. Frankly, we'd be better off pulling that pairing from release rather than launch it half-finished.

As far as the original post, I am guessing the standard stuff in the newsletter, i.e. 1 class pairing, a zone overview, some concept art, etc.. I'd also expect some video footage coming out of Lepzig.

Judging from the roll out of Empire and Chaos, I think we'll get the names of at least two of the careers from HE and DE (probably revealed with concept art and an enthusiastic Barnett explanation video), with the other two names emerging in the newsletters where those careers are explored; there will be quite a lot of concept art of careers, npcs, and architecture, and that would be it for the first month.

HOWEVER, the roll out of Empire and Chaos took place while there was still Dwarf and Greenskin stuff being revealed; at the moment, the decks are cleared. So that might mean more Elf stuff.

Also, just a list of the classes, the community will fill in the blanks on which does what.

I think we'll at least find out the names of all four classes for both HE and DE. Based on what the mythic quotes on these forums, it's sounded like they're saying that it's going to be an all or nothing for now. The only reason why they spaced the empire and chaos is because they were trying to give themselves plenty of time, but now we're kind of coming down to a crunch.

Agreed. The names of the classes alone would do to excite those of us who have eagerly been waiting (and to shut the "waaaaa no witch elfs plz kkthks!" people up!). And, let's face it: the elves have some great potential, either way. I don't need screens yet; I just want to know what I can play.
