I couldn't find any specific answers to my question, please forgive me if I missed it in the forums. I am currently at level 99 salvaging, I had a bank vault filled with items that were a little too high for me to salvage, 57 in fact. I started at level 91 and therefore had 8 successes and 49 failures...is this the ratio that it is supposed to be? If it is, I have another 101 levels to go and with a success rate of 14%, that means I need about 721 more items to salvage. If I were to buy these items off of the AH for an average price of 50 silver, that will be 360 gold. I don't have 360 gold. Did I have a freak night or is there something I am missing?

Im not that high yet so im sorry that I cant give you a reasonable answer.
but ill pose a question or two for you instead to think about. . .
What will you do with the talismans you make after spending all that gold to make them?
Do you think you can get good returns on the investment?
Will you be able to put them all to good use?
so far in my experience I have found that most talismans wouldnt sell for much in the AH and definately not to a vendor, also I havent made anything that I would use myself to warrant spending any amount of money on it.
Im levelling my salvaging and TM skill reasonably slowly but im confident that when im into the higher end content it will start to balance out nicely. .
hope that helps you decide what you want to do.
