I have decided that in WAR i want to play a support class, and the two that I am debating between r the shaman and the zealot. Now i like the idea behind the shaman class and dont know too much about the zealot at this point.
What i would like to know is which class do you think will be better for this purpose. From what ive read they seem to both do moderate DPS and good healing, but does one heal or DPS better than the other or are they basically the same class save a few different spells?

If mythic does its job, they should both fill the support job, equally.

They are totally different classes though

Zealots are buff/debuff oriented

Shamans will be more nuke/debuff oriented

they are similar archetypes, but i am sure they will play drastically different.

Well, from what I've seen so far.. it looks like the zealot is more of a Dot / HoT support class with a few nuking spells, while the shaman leans more toward the nuking aspects of their healing and dmg spells while still having access to their own sort of HoTs and DoTs.

They're both support/healing classes. Best bet would be to play both for a few levels and then decide. Assuming you have no preference between Chaos and Greenskins. Looking at the spell lists, they have very different abilities but the same overall job.

the shaman is a heavy nukeing/helaing class. It relys on its nuking spell to heal better.

the zealot is a AoE debuff class/AoE support healer. It can seriously cripple the enemy while providing moderate healing.

now leaving the healing aside lets compare the two in terms most people will understand (by refering to WoW). The shaman is easy compareable to a mage, no where near as powerful because it is a support class but the style of spells are close, it has mostly single target damaging spells with some nice AoE damage and rooting spells. The zealot ont he other hand is like Warlock (if they didnt have pets, wern't completely OP), they rely on DoTs and debuffs to moderatly damage and cripple the enemy. Add rituals (totems) that can provide a stream of heals and damage enemys in range, plus a bunch of other cool ones that boost you and disable them.

And now for the healing. The shaman is like a cross between a priest and a pally(Pre-BC), they have great single target heals with single target buffs that boost thier targets effectiveness with 1 AoE heal (from what ive heard the shaman's is a cloud they put around an enemy that heals your group members around him) and 1 or two HoTs. The shaman can futher increase his effectiveness by building Waaagh! from damageing enemys, this ethier increases the amount healed or the duration of a spell. Now the zealot is more like a cross between a preist and a shaman (go figure). rituals both buff your friends and debuff your enemys makeing it easyer for you to heal, most of the healing ive seen come from group heals and HoTs.

These are speculations made from information provided to me from War-resource and can change at any moment.

The shaman is going to be a class that makes us big brutes tuffa, and can blow stunties out of there holes. Lots of blowing themselves up, flying through the air, screaming like a crazy gobbo kinda of stuff, lol. You will rely on other greenskins to keep the enemy tied up, while you do your work from a distance, making sure your grottiness is safe.

While the Zealot is a feathered nut case, that will weaken his enemies, and strengthen his allies extensively. It sounds like they will be the premier debuffing class. They also look like they will rely on getting in close, showing everyone your scary skull....(snooze).

Choose the crazy gobbo shaman, i'll make sure you don't get stomped by any stuntie.

From what I've seen, there is no wrong choice out of the two, its all a matter of what abilities seem more "cool" to *you* :)

The playstyle of the shaman seems more of a direct damage nuker style with direct heals, while the zealot seems more like an ae debuffer that helps slow/hurt the other enemies while doing his heals. it also seems that zealots are able to give friendlies buffs that give them new abilities?

Mark of the Spell Destroyer 1 or 2 60 0-100 ft Your target's Intelligence is increased. The bearer of this Mark gains the ability to (drain action points?) from their target.

either way both support classes seem quite cool/fun.. although i prefer the look of the goblins ;)

I have been Reading up on the Alpha spells of both of these Classes, Giving the factors that the spells can change and minute.

The Shaman is a more Nuke and Debuff,

While the Zealots has some Dots, Debuffs and some Buffs, It may have a better Variety of Spells.

But all in all, I'd say their both Equal, or should be close - Make your decision on What you like best.
