Hey All, Im personally more familiar with the WH 40K universe, but was curious about some of the Fantasy Lore.
Is there any kind of Storm Mage/Shaman in the Fantasy world?
Thinking Hail/Rain/Snow/Lightning/Wind Powers/Sonic(Thunder).
Any thing like that around?
Thanks,
~Llaith.

I think it would just be a Celestial Wizard (im sure its one of the empire wizardry orders) that would use magic such as thunder and lightning etc.
Though, I doubt they would be implemented, as it would just be a BW that throws lightning instead of fire, unless they perhaps made them a mainly ranged cc class, with things like knockdowns(thunder) and disarms (lightning) with some support rdps perhaps.

That would Rock though, Im sure there are others out there like me, that find BW a little Dull... Fire is cool and all, but when its all you can do... =\

Yes that would be a Celestial Wizard, I doubt we will see any other of the schools. Other then the NPC ones we see now, there are 8 total schools of magic in the Empire.

Agree - Celestial Wizard - there are a couple in the Library in Altdorf.
Celestial Wizards would also draw upon precognition in addition to the weather effects.

Don't forget Jade Wizards! They control nature and can summon wind storms or use natural surfaces to harm people.

Sounds Awesome on Both(Cel/Jade)
I love Casters that Use "Nature" Magics.
However, the one issue that usually shows up is that of heals, "Oh the Nature guy should get heals!" No TY, Pewpew for the win!
I want to shart Lightning and Belch Thunder!

In the game, the giant Observatory in Reikland is actually run by the Celestial wizards, though it's unlikely you'll ever get play one as a class (The Empire has enough classes) it would be cool if Destro could fight against one at some stage?
I know that the Observatory is in the Empire half of the zone.
http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/Colleges_of_Magic <--- a short scroll down that page there is some Mythic concept art of various wizards of the other colleges, with a Celestial wizard on the right. That one doesn't look very badass, but Celestial Wizards don't tend to become battle mages as much as Bright Wizards do, therefore they'd have less badass warrior types in their college overall. They usually spend more time divining the heaven's and making predictions of the future etc. Not that there isn't battle wizards, they're just not as common as they are in the Bright College.

Am I the only one who thinks that Amethyst Wizards are the way to go here?

i would wager to guess that within 2 years each race will have 5 classes total ... and that would be a second caster class for the races that do not currently have one ...

Dwarfs have no caster class and the Rune Priest is a definite lore stretch as is. A stealth mechanic type class for those missing one might be nice - Rangers for Dwarfs, Night Goblins for Greenskins - I personally think SW, given their nature and the lore, should have a stealth mechanic built in.
Would be cool though to see each race get bumped up to 5 though. And the more I think on it, especially considering my background in WFRP, I could see Slayers getting the nod fro the Dwarfs.
So, for each race not up to 4/5, I'll throw out some possibilities for my own amusement:
Dwarf:
Slayers (MDPS)
Rangers (RPDS - a less effective but far stouter SW)
Empire:
Pit Fighter ( more of a marauder mirror)
High Elf:
A bit stuck here but let's go with Sea Guard (a midrange balance between the WL & SM - with spears!)
Greenskin:
Savage Orc (replacing the Choppa but w/ a similar mechanic)
Night Goblin (Sneaky gits, these)
Chaos:
Reaver (a light armored kiting sort of low range RPDS/MPDS hybrid)
Dark Elf:
Corsairs ( again an RPDS/MPDS hybrid)
Goofy I know but what the hell for S&G.
