I hope it stays here, there's more chance of Xurre commenting on it. :p

I also linked the image in a thread here :) , but yeah, it's kind of buried there.

Should be a proper topic by itself.

But for me, that's a Cold One Knight. If it's anything else, I'll be suprised. The style of helmet doesn't fit with any of the other options.

Noticed that myself. The Black Guard helm has more horn kind of things, and the Executioner has that Chain Mail face cover.

Who knows though. They could pull helmets and armor styles from other tank-ish classes and put them into one class.

And I noticed the one in the General Discussion, I just figured it needed a dedicated Dark Elf Army thread. :)

I just hope they release all of the classes tomorrow and not just one or two. :p

My first thought was Black Guard, but it does look a little different. It's certainly not an executioner. It could be a Cold One Knight, or a mixture of the first and last. Guess we'll hear it tomorrow.

Good grief, I'm all excited.

Most certainly.

Yeah, without the chainmail face thing it's not an Executioner.

As for Black Guard. The Black Guard helm decoration doesn't come away from the helm like the Cold One Knight. The BG decoration is a wavy kris (dagger) looking thing going up the middle, with an almost flame-like bit on the sides.

The Cold One Knight decoration looks like it could be broken off and used as a weapon, heh. They could headbutt someone and impale them.

The mast image is too pointy and bladed to be anything but a Cold One Knight.

With the skills we've seen so far, I wouldn't put it past Mythic to have a "head butt" move for this Tank class. Would make perfect sense considering their helmet is made of knives basically.

No matter what the class is called I think we can all agree that it's going to look awesome.

I disagree, it looks like a Cold One Knight helm with the angles of Executioner helm and the cheekguards and some of the Black Guard style. But its mostly a Cold One Knight helm.

Please Khaine let Cold One Knights be in the game as playable!

I'd give it a 55% chance of being a Cold One Knight, a 20% chance of being a Black Guard, and a 20% chance of not representing any class thats gonna be playable and just being used as a generic dark elf imagery. I agree that image isn't typical of a Executioner helm, BUT I'll still throw them a 5% just because they have surprised us in the past.

If you look at most of the newsletters, they usually have a picture like this displaying the class that the newsletter is about, so I'd doubt its just a random Dark Elf.

I agree. It seems to me to have a bit more Black Guard style than Cold One Knight style... though the Cold One Knight style it has is the most pronounced feature (the spiky bits) as I understand it that's more a sign of nobility than a sign of Cold One Knight.

Where'd you hear that? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm actually just curious. I agree with you, however, it looks most like a Black Guard, if not for the spiky bits.

I don't think they say it specifically that the style marks one as a noble, but in the "The Path of Slaughter - Arms and Armour of Dark Elf Nobility" in the dark elf army book they've got a drawing of a dark elf noble in armor with that style helmet.

About the helm in particular it says:

3 The helmet is a composite of separate parts. The main skull (a) follows a typical Dark Elf shape. The visor (b) is laced onto rings on the helmet (note the mail collar worn under the gorget), although often this is left off in battle to allow for maximum visibility in combat. The bevor (c) is laced directly and rigidly to the breastplate and makes a very effective guard for the vulnerable neck area.
Can't find the exact image online.

I'm pretty positive after comparing it with the miniatures that its a Black Gaurd. The facial shape just looks too similiar, especially with the far right, front row Black Gaurd in this (http://uk.games-workshop.com/darkelves/miniature-gallery/16/) picture.

I'm not very familiar with Dark Elves, could anyone explain what their "gimmick" could be?

It may be a silly reason, but for some reason I dont think they'll have Cold One Knights just because of the acronym. I mean acronyms are so prevalent in MMOs. People are already using WP and BO and KotBS. I just dont think COK is going to be acceptable.

I mean can you imagine the threads... "Nerf COKS!!!" "COKS Overpowered"

It might be immature, but if you think like a teenager, you can imagine where this is going to go.

Maybe they'll just change the name from Cold One Knight to something else. :p Like Dark Elf Knight.

The slightly better version of the Cold One Knight in the TT game is called a Dread Knight which is a name we've bandied about for over a year on these boards as a substitute to avoid "COK" puns.

Ah, you're right. Never noticed that before (always took it for a tent or something). In fact, on closer inspection the text specifically mentions that it's a picture of a Cold One Knight.

Well, so much for that theory then. :)

Looks like a Cold One Knight to me. The mouth-guard is mail, the only chain is a neck-guard, so not executioners. The helm is Cold One style and the mouth is closed, the Black Guard on GWs site do not have a mouth-guard on their helm.

Important point to remember - it is just concept art !

Hell we even had screenshots of Dwarf Slayers and Orc Shamans ;-)

Though my money would be on, if it were included, it being as a 'Noble', rather than a Cold One Knight - and it having a unique mount (i.e. Cold One) rather than playing as a mounted class (see: WoW Paladin Warhorse)

He looks like the lovechild between Darth Vadar and a Predator, having been made a very pointy gold Grand High Emperor of the Universe. In a good way.

Seriously though, those distinctive horn-like helmet spikes do seem pretty typical of Cold One Knights (http://uk.games-workshop.com/darkelves/miniature-gallery/8/), but they can also be found on the warriors bottom-left in this picture (http://uk.games-workshop.com/download/popup.htm?/darkelves/artwork/images/big-8.jpg), as well as on Malekith, Morathi and a Witch Elf Hag so let's not completely make our minds up that it's a Barney-rider just yet.

Can't see it as an Executioner. Despite the slight hint of chainmail, from a design point-of-view those head-spikes would definitely get in the way of the massive Draich. :-P

The three golden prongs rising above his brow are also a noticeble characteristic of Black Guard (http://uk.games-workshop.com/darkelves/miniature-gallery/16/) helmet armour as well. The cheekguards which bend outwards from the face across the jawline are similar in shape to those found on the Black Guard too.

So characteristics of Cold One Knight, Warrior, and Black Guard.

I'm gonna go with Fellblade / Dread Knight.

I have been trying aswell to look at miniature images to see where the different features fit in. But in the end we will just have to wait till further confirmation about the classes.
