Now now, Xurre had nothing to do with that decision. She just defended her class of choice. I did the same with Cold One Knights. Maybe later they will put in the classes we want.

I was honestly thinking of sending her a congratulation PM. I'm probably never going to play DEs myself (allthough the Black Guard does look tempting) but I'd feel honestly bad for her if Witch Elves weren't included.
So, many congrats Xurré! I'm glad you'll be staying with the game :D

Aren't black guards close enough?
And YAY Witch Elves.

No, not nearly close enough. Nothing can substitute having a nauglir for mounted combat and watching your enemies flee in terror from a several tonne wingless dragon with a thirst for blood coming after them. :(

We may or may not get the lizards as mounts later.

With Mythic's decision to only have one mounted combat career per side I'm glad they didn't half- the Cold One Knights as a ground-based career. Hopefully the Cold One Knight will be available as a mounted combat tank in an expansion. But then it's no one's surprise that they didn't add it at present time.

Grats Xurre'

Ooh, my own thread. :D
Thank you very much all. It's much appreciated. And thank you for the number of PMs I've gotten as well. I feel like a celebrity.
Though Bulwyf is right; I didn't have anything to do with the decision (as far as I'm aware) and just defended the career that seemed most interesting to me. And I'm far from the only one doing so. Zoatibix, for one, also has been a strong supporter (and there are too many others to list).
I'm also sorry for those who didn't get what they wanted to see, truly. I think I know very well how you feel. I hope that you'll find something else worth playing (maybe Bulwyf'll learn to like the Black Guard once he realizes that the look is very similar to Cold One Knight and it's likely that all dark elves will get to ride a nauglir, even if not in combat). But I can also understand not wanting to continue with WAR now if that's your choice; just try not to be too spiteful about it.
For me, yes, I'll definitely want to stick with WAR and barring any unforseen circumstances (like a dinosaur dropping on my house or such) I'll definitely be playing a Witch Elf, on an EU RP server if there's going to be one.
Now lets get back to the myriad of things that we've still got left to discuss regarding Witch Elves, dark elves and the game in general. And thank you all again, I am indeed quite overjoyed. :)

Xurré, I find it hard to believe that you haven't changed your character from "Undecided" to "A Witch Elf" yet. :-P

By the way did anyone notice the cold one standing behind the witch elf in the brief in-game footage?

Grats to getting your beloved witch elf into the game Xurré. I really hope ya will roll one and have fun with it now after all those discussions.;)
ps. I shall also roll a dark elf on a european Rp sever... Wanna join my guild? Nah, just joking. Anyways, it would be awsome to try to collect the WHA (european) comunity at one server, so I would love to try to join the same server as you if there would be any chance that is possible :D
I almost hoped they didn't get in, just to see the reaction.
But hey! Grats anyway :D If your on my server, give my Black guard a poke.

Congrats to everyone that pulled and hoped for the Witch Elves in general, not just Xurre, though I commend Xurre for all her efforts representing them on the boards.

Hehe, justice done I feel. Even from here I can almost sense Xurre's joy. Congratulations!

Unless the nauglir decide to be "stupid" and do nothing for the turn. :)

Time to look through the Temple of Khaine bits of the army book to see the kind of poisons and abilities that might find their way into the game.
I'm not overly bothered with the Witches making it in, the only thing that ever bothered me was the fact that they are female and have 'large tracts of open land' as aptly put by Paul. The first I can live with and the second is probably to a degree customisable.
Wasn't too impressed with the forward lent, hunchback animation. The posture of the Witch reminded me of the Forsaken from WoW who were wee critters. I want to stand tall darnit. Not like an overturned U with legs.

Oh, cool. I usually assume everyone is going US-side. Nice to see some fellow EU-RPers. Looking foreward to fighting by your side :D

Congrats!!!!
While you weren't the reason they are in (you didn't claim to be anyway ;)) I think you showed pretty much the process the developers went through and how WE were a no-brainer.
Having Dark Elves but no WE would have been like having a Warhammer game with no Orcs.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Having seen the "Agile Escape" move for the Witch Elf just confirmed to me even more than previously that this is going to be the career of choice for me (not because of the animation which was very much crap, but because of the actual mechanic).
EU RP server here as well - covering up exposed flesh as much as possible on a server near you.

Bah! yeh failed yer kin! But personaly I found the Black guard to be ptretty tempting, but i'm sutbborn so Dwarf Hammerer i'll stay.
Now Xurre, I remember from while ago that I think I said i'd eat my own foot if they made Witch Elves, so how can I have it? Fried, grilled, or raw? lol

Its for want of playing with the mates that has it down this way. But there'll be a Dwarf alt or two. Can't pass up the possibilities to wander the width of the Karaz-Ankor or being part of the retaking of Vala-Azrilungol, the Queen of the Silver Depths from hence the Tohrdawi-bin-Dreki did hail.

Yeah, I think Xurre deserves props for some well argued and in-character tenacity in arguing for the 100% most obvious class that just had to be in the Dark Elf roster list.
Hope we get to spill some Asur blood together sometime.

Tell you what... I'll let you change one voiceless consonant into its voiced equivalent in that promise. Then you can have it any way you want.
Think carefully now... ;)

Gratz Zurre and all the Witch Elves.

I think what he meant was, they are similar in archetype. If you watched that video (I assume you did), each race shares the same 4 archetypes. So in essence, Cold One Knights and Black Guards (no matter the lore, back story, or specifics) are very similar archetypes (heavily armored melee dps).
