You'll never destroy a chaos town, no need to worry.

Apprentice Witch Hunter: Sir, I've been studying Hieronymus Black's Rules, and I had a question?
Witch Hunter: Yes, oh insipid apprentice?
Apprentice Witch Hunter: When are we allowed to dance, sir?
Witch Hunter: When Chaos is no more.
Apprentice Witch Hunter: But sir, Chaos springs from the evil nature of mankind, it can't ever be completely destroyed!
Witch Hunter: ....When Chaos is no more.

Dancing leads to lascivious thoughts.
Lascivious thoughts leadx to feelings of lust.
Lust leads to temptation.
Temptation leads to corruption.
Corruption leads to Chaos.
The OP is clearly an agent of Chaos trying to undermine the Empire by trying to corrupt the first line of defense for Humanity, the Witch Hunters.
Unfortunately, I just realized this argument would inevitably lead to the need for dancing Chosen.
Nevermind.

I can't access youtube at work... but if that's the Batusi, then that's all the more reason why there should be no dancing in WAR.

If you're implying that the Batusi was anything other then the greatest event in television history then I'm afraid I'm going to have to add your name to The List.

I have nothing against the Batusi, or against the old school Batman show. But Batman did dancing so perfectly with that, he could never top it again, which is why he's remained firmly anti-dance since. He had the smarts to get out when he was on top.
And since WAR could never touch the wonder of the Batusi, they should never even attempt it.

Why do I have a feeling I'm going to be playing with a bunch of overly-serious nutjobs, who disdain any trace of lightheartedness they happen to see in game by other players?

I gotta agree with this guy right here, I don't want to ever see a Witch Hunter dancing until every single witch has been burned, drowned, or otherwise executed.

Only the Time Warp would be an acceptable dance, all other dances are heresy.

After consulting my manual of Witch Hunter-y, I have determined that dancing within the Empire is heretical, and as such, the progenator of this thread shall be burned at the stake for herisy. Any last words? No?Try dancing now. You're just lucky I left my iron shoes at home today.

What if the only way you could dance was to target a dead enemy? That way you can dance upon their corpse.
Or maybe a mailbox...

You've never seen dance competions, if you do you'll understand how close chaos is to danceing.

they should do what paul said. make the camera pan to your characters face and then he swears at you
*Types in /dance*
*Camera zooms in on an extreme close-up of character*
Character: Go **** yourself!
Dancing is an integral part of any game, people. There's nothing more humiliating than being killed by a member of the opposing faction and then having them dance on your corpse. It's KEY.

I think a certin angry drunken foul mouthed comfy chair dwelling old priest said it best when he said "NO DANCING IN WAR", closely followed by a few insane ramblings including the words "DRINK, FECK, ARSE" and "GIRLS".
http://www.secretlivesofmobs.com/index.php?strip_id=2
Alternativly though to your camera zooming swearing thing, which by the way would be awesome. Perhapse another idea would be to have it go:
Camera zooms in on an extreme close up of your face
Character stares stone faced for a few secconds, expressionless
Blinks, raises an eyebrow, shifts eyes from side to side and frowns, says something like "Not gonna happen".Classic :p

That's the most humiliating thing you can think of? Seriously? There will still be other emotes, and I'm sure some will be good to do over someone's corpse. I put dancing right up there with Monty Python refrences. They're cool/funny/whatever the first few times, but have been done to death five times over, and should be allowed to rest in peace. Yes, Monty Python movies are hilarious, great works of cinematic art, but you saying "I fart in your general direction" is only funny the first 300 times, just like dancing.
Let it go, move on, and realize there are more to games than that.

This has been explained in serious detail. War is literally about war. However, there will be a hobby aspect to it, but they have said that at this point, Mythic does not intend for there to be dancing. Simple, end of discussion.

Im sure they will have emotes, ones that insult the other player, just no dancing. Leave dancing for the elves.

they also talk about how interacting with the other side will be impossible, so I doubt there will be insult or mock emotes.

where'd u get that from? Oh well, I guess that basically sums it up. I can't say if there are emotes as of now in game (NDA) though I guess we know know it will be possible to interact with emotes
However, Dancing is still most likely out.
