Hey all,

Ive been following the support careers for a while now, and Im fairly certain, barring an amazing DE support class, that I want to be a Zealot. Ive been absorbing every bit of info I can get, but so far havent really heard anything about solo PVE.

Typically healers have one of the toughest times soloing.. They can kill almost anything but do it really slowly. A lot of MMOs have talent specs etc that help ease this. What's interesting is that a Zealot's speciality is its rituals and harbingers, IE aoe debuffs. Now, this doesnt seem like it would transfer will to pve, but I was thinking, it might be possible to play the zealot like you played a protection specced Paladin in WoW. What they did was not spec in their dps tree, but instead turned themselves into porcupines. You'd round up 5-10 mobs, and they'd kill themselves against a bunch of different abilities that occured when you were hit.

Through a good use of tactics and morale abilities it looks like a Zealot might be able to do this too. Ritual of Exsangination, Reversal of Fate, and the other morale ability that deals PBAoE damage. That, coupled with tactics like the chance to reduce STR and INT on hit, and the one that adds a minor amount of damage per second to your rituals seem like they could make a great porcupine fighter.

Of course, this is all just speculation, but I would LOVE if it worked out like this. It's always nice to be able to do things a little outside the box, and if regular grinding can make full use of the Zealot's abilities, thats even better.

That would indeed be a pretty fun playstyle.

As Garthiik mentioned in a different thread though... the abilities documented so far were gathered at GamesDay events and are really just for show. The abilities displayed in the events aren't even what are in beta, apparantly.

I'm going on a whim here and saying "Yes, but only if I keep it open." I'd be amused if that thing caught fire while playing WAR...

Yea, I'm working on a modification that involves cutting a hole in the side and taping a small box fan to it.

Also, I'll sell you a replica for $300! Super cheap!

In fact that´d be the only way that wouldn´t SUCK
It would suck having to drain out their lives slowly and restoring your health x-times, before one enemy falls.
It would suck just being able to debuff their attacks and then slowly hitting them to death
one by one, a cue of 2 Dozen NPCs still waiting around you.

Actually the way I understand it EVERY class is a capable damage dealer, but every PC got some way to avoid/interupt/soak attacks.Not knowing how to use them is killing you in no time.
Means PVE-NPC= cannonfodder, so you won´t have to run from Wild Boars

I'm thinking it all depends on how you place your masteries.

<take cover from WoW reference>

In WoW you could level very slowly if you didn't spec properly, however that character would shine in other areas of the game, whereas the faster leveling spec would not do as well in those other areas.

<recover>

We'll just have to wait and see what the masteries are like, if they pan out to be as similar to WoWs Talent Trees as I think they are.
