Since the Marauder has the ability to mutate, will they do less damage than what a choppa is capable of doing to be fair? Otherwise I would think people would rather be a Marauder since it has mutations and has the same damage like the other melee dps classes on the destruction side.

I think marauder and choppa = same damage when not mutated or bezerk
and then they both get even high damage but still similar when the marauder is mutated and the choppa is bezerk. I havent seen the marauder in action but I think he will be like the choppa, a lil below average before he bezerks/mutates then he does insane damage.

How is doing less damage fair? Mutations don't appeal to everyone... they may allow the marauder to do different things, but there is a large aesthetic part to it. Mutations is what the marauder does, just like enraging is what the Choppas do, and like wearing sweet hats is what Witch Hunters do.

no one can tell you who does more damage or anything along those lines because the only people that would know cant tell you.

I'd say it depends on which has the higher armour.

I think that the Choppa has more armour than the Marauder, being the highest armoured Melee DPS class along with the Hammerer, so I'd assume the Marauder would have higher DPS.

Choppa berzerks and does a lot of general damage while the Marauder does specific kinds of damage. He may have a mutation that is better at dealing with single targets or groups; or different mutations for tanks or casters.

At least thats the way it seems to me.

I'm not sure about that honestly. I was thinking about melee DPS differences the other day. Witch hunters and Witch Elves seem to be the lightest armored revealed melee classes. In the class description for Hammerers it says "Well armored in medium weight armor (decorated with dwarfen motifs)". For Choppas it says "Light to moderate armor allowing flexibility and mobility", and for Marauders it says "Barbaric, medium-strength armor". Of course all those things are just adjectives, but to me it almost feels like the armor strength for melee DPS goes Witch Elf < Witch Hunter < Choppa < Marauder < Hammerer. Then again I feel like Elves might be naturally less tough and Choppas more tough, so maybe it's more like Witch hunter/Witch Elf/High Elf Class < Choppa/ Marauder/Hammerer... a more simplistic division.

Of course, just wild, uneducated guesses by me... ;)
