I'm a ex-wow addict.
Had a 70 shaman and a 70 hunter.
I love dps, hate healing, hate tanking.
I don't want ranged dps.
I was thinking of playing an Orc Choppa when I can play.
Any tips?
Would this be a good "starting out" class?

I'd actualy recomend you to try out the healing and tanking classes, i've always prefered the dps classes myself, but the way Mythic is doing them in this game, they really interest me.
And remember this is a PvP oriented game, and the classes are balanced as such, so the tanks are like PvP tanks..

I had to combat heal as my shaman in my 3v3 team sadly.
I truly am sick and tired of healing, and how would tanking another player work?
I'm oblivious to the rules of pvp for this game, but wouldn't the player being "tanked" just be able to run over and attack something else?

I strongly agree.
My method of choosing a starting class will be to take a six sided die to see which race I play, then flip a coin twice to decide on the class.
In all seriousness, the way the classes work and all, I doubt I'll get my final character started within 4 tries first.
And as far as the tanking goes, there's several reasons they won't want to attck someone else.
The tank is applying a debuff/buff (a good example is taunt, which reduces a players dmg to everything but the tank by 50%)
The tank has built up specials and is starting to steamroll (ironbreaker's grudge and black guard's hatred would be the biggest here)
Collision detection means that the tanks can't just be walked right through, you've got to find a way aroundSeveral other gimmicks, like knockbacks, disarms, snares, etc. will be used too.
With all that they're adding, you'll want the tank to die first, as they'll be the most annoying enemy.

Taunts carry with them dammage debuffs, if yer not attackin the ironbreaker yer doin 30% less dammage to his group mates plus givin the Ironbreaker more grudge ta fight with.
Its more of an inscentive to attack the tank. makes more sense ta get rid of him as hes more of a threat best to be tanek out first.

You had a 70 shaman and you hate healing? Thats sounds about right; I hated healing too(I had a 70 shaman).
Judging by the classes you listed, I'm guessing that you want decent survivability plus good damage, but you don't want to have to heal/tank. I wouldn't rule out the black orc altogether b/c I have a feeling PVP tanks in WAR will be more interesting than the PVE tanks of other games.
I figure you're decision would really come down to how well a Choppa can survive. I haven't seen any recent Choppa gameplay videos so it's hard to say how well a Choppa can take hits, but it's my opinion that you would probably like the Black orc better.

Alrighty, yeah.. I thought it was going to be like wow, where things can walk right past you, someone told me tanks in WAR have collision or something.. prevents that, and I love the sound of it.
So wait, you rolled a healing class, leveled it up, but didn't want to heal?
60 shaman, 60 priest, 70 paladin, 57 druid, 3 of them full healing spec, the druid would have been if i hadn't quit. Each of them made more of a difference per battle than any single dpser in both pve and pvp. (by that i mean the damage classes i teamed up with always topped the charts due to them living longer).
also, 70 lock and 60 rogue (my farmers).
All that aside, if you want pure big numbers floating above your head i'd say the chopper would be the best class for you. It looks like the black orc, while more survivable, is going to be more of a control (via stuns and knockdowns) class rather than a raw damage dealer.

Also, all taunts have secondary effects that work for PvP. As for your original question, way to early to tell, but to me it dosn't look like the absolutely most complicated class ever.

As for the wow comment..
Echeyaku was enhancement most of his life
Towards the end of my career before I gave my account away, I was DW spec, had 1900 AP, and 8k hp, this is all unbuffed.

If you havent been scolded yet here it goes.
WAR is not WoW and classes wont work like they did in WoW, Tanks will accualy tank enemy players and healers will cripple and damage.
Orcs are not the honor driven pansys that they are in WoW and have no problem slaughtering whole camps as long as they can enjoy the fighting. Dwarves are greedy drunks that hold grudges for all eternity and value gold almost as high as thier ale.

Actually, this is the first time I have ever seen a tank that can tank in PvP. Every other game on the history of the planet has failed in this department 100% of the time. Now they might actually be useful!
And yes, Warhammer lore >> WoW lore by a long shot. There is no good and bad, they are all bad and dark in their own ways. Which is what makes it fun :)
As far as the OP's question. The Choppa will be a melee DPS class, and that is all we really know or can tell you so far. Doing other wise would, well, be a beta violation :P Try checking out some of the videos or the posts talking about the skills of the classes. Might help you get a better idea for each of them.
