On the Zealot info in warhammeonline.com it saids essentially unarmored, does that mean he/she will die in a couple hits if in the middle of the battle or they have good armor just not a lot of clothing?
O yeah, here is some Zealot armor in concept art if u havent noticed. http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/media/conceptArt/ConArt20070905_01.jpg

I highly doubt that. It's a buff/support/heal class.

With the focus on buffs/debuffs with Zealots, I'd be surprised if they don't have a way to buff their base damage mitigation that's constant, or at least plenty of tricks to get out of tight situations.

I agree, in that picture there wasn't much armor, so their mit will mostly come from buffs I assume.

Healers have the second toughest armour in the game after tanks. The need for balance while remaining faithful to the visuals of the Warhammer IP means that looks matter little when it comes to how tough a character is. A Warrior Priest or Runepriest may look ten times more resilient than a Zealot or a Shaman, but that's just because of how they're portrayed in the lore; balance concerns mean that in gameplay terms they'll probably only be slightly hardier. Similarly, a Zealot should be harder to kill than those fancy fully-armoured Maguses.

QFT. Take the magus for example, a lot of screen shots show them in scale/mail armor and plate looking shoulders and helms, but its still only caster lvl armor.

yea, plus they do weild magic so lore wise that would be the answer to the extra armor

in one of the podcasts it lists their armor type as heavy cloth, where mages were just plain cloth, so i'd expect there to be a difference between the armor that is available between the two types of characters.
As a former warlock in WoW... sounds damn good to me :P
On a side note... i've been looking forward to play this class for awhile.. too bad i haven't gotten accepted to closed beta, and by the look of things never will. But no matter how they change them around, and no matter if they suck.. i'll still play them. I mean come on, i played a warlock when they were free HK's.. this should be fine, amirite? ;)

Just because no one seems to have pointed it out yet (or I missed it):
The section of the character page where that info is listed is refering to the look of the class. It's not sufficient information to come to a conclusion on the mechanics of the class.
Though weak armor may be implied, the information on a mechanic level seems to classify all healers are moderately armored. Which, based off the list presented in the same video (the source of the info), would put it as the second best armor in the game.
The information on armor presented was;
Tank - Heavy
Melee - Light
Ranged - Extremely light
Support - Moderate
Whether it is indeed all encompassing on a mechanic level so that a Shaman would actually be more armored than a Choppa, we can't know for sure. But at the moment that seems to be the case.

I think it'll be sort of a range that Mythic will work with. While the Warrior Priest has more armor then the Zealot, the Zealot is capable of slightly more damage. In a way, each class' armor would vary a bit, as would their capabilities...
Dunno if that made sense, but it's my thoughts on this.

Well just because they look as if they have a lot of armor with plate, Zealot's rituals, and marks can make a difference.
Warrior-Priest - Melee
Zealot- Close combat spell casters.
So warrior priest will be in melee while zealots will not be as close, but close enough to cast rituals.

Very good post Feigro, I think it'll be like that as well. I'm pretty sure something like warrior priest will be able to take more direct mele dmg, atleast to some point than zealot. (As WP is ment to fight in the frontline thus taking most likely mele dmg constantly.) That doesn't mean that Zealot couldn't take some beating too. + There's probably, like others have stated already some sort of buffs/debuffs to compensate the lack of "heavy armor".
Kinda off-topic.. I played warlock from closed beta (EU) up to TBC. ( Didn't buy TBC, ended there) And I never felt that warlocks were free HK's, there were only few talent builds tho that worked well in the early game. (times when siphon life and conflagrate had casting times :P) They were more fun back then than after warlocks got those major buffs, deathcoil etc. (+ liked more of old Curse of Shadows and Elements since they add some excitement :P chance to have 100% dmg boost to your crit compared to constant 10% was whole a lot more exiting IMO) + at the end of my "wow career" warlocks were considered to be imbalanced and none gave you the credit of doing well in pvp/duels.
I rather play something that is challenging and considered to be a bit underdog. I actually hope that Zealot will be hard to master (but effective in group pvp once you master the class) and even slightly underdog rather than overpowered in 1on1 situations.
Crazy ol' dude

Imo no, not really ;p WP has better armor as he is melee, he has to have some good protection. But i imagine he'll be on the other hand more vulnerable against ranged attacks than the zealot who has some nice anti-caster stuff, while their DPS will remain quite comparable.
No honest idea tho, we'll have to wait for release or at least more videos : /

The Zealot's LOOK is essentially unarmored. The Zealot armor's actual functionality is probably in line with the podcast, moderate in damage mitigation.
This is from the exact same page as where the OP got his information:
"Alternatively, you might wish to attack the Zealot as a priority, but he is hardly the soft target that he might appear to be."

My thoughts exactly. From the apperance of the zealot, they look very unarmored with a lot of bare skin. but that doesnt mean they'll actually be that 'squishy'.

I LOVE the zealot "grim reaper" style!!! if they have some really good grim reaper/necromancer styling I will prolly have a Zealot ALT.

Warhammer has a mechanic that supports this very concept; in 40k it's called an Invulnerable save, and in Fantasy a Ward save (though the two do differ slightly.)

I think the look of the zealot is amazing and unique. I heard someone by T4 the Zealot's face is almost entirely shrouded in shadow. Just like all Chaos classes he isn't just some human that likes Tzeentch, they become sick and twisted as they progress. I can't wait to see some of the rendered T4 Zealot gear.
On top of all that I know the skull isn't mandatory, but I think the head of some high ranking Empire leader would do well in the mangy hands of the Zealot!

I can't wait for the shrunken heads and the birdskullhood.
I think I recall a convention video with a staff, too. I'd like to see some art for staves as well.

I think the skull is just one of a few hand items. Cant find the reference right now - lazy. I think there is some concept art that sugguest the same.
Also, I really hope that there are multiple looks for the Teir 4 zealot, rather than seeing a sea of clones sacking the city.
I am one of the few too! We should have a club or something ;)
Played a warlock from day 1 as well :D. Nothing's better than playing a class who is buffed every day up to level 60. Poor hunters.
