I do like the how to counterpart , wait for them to wear out. So are we going to be a class of doom for the casters? ^.^

If you wear robes, I think the sight of a group of Witch Elves closing with you will make you need to change them :)

I hope it doesnt turn into too much of a rock paper scissors type game..

Well if you watched the previous podcast (or the one before, I forget which) it basically showed that it will be a rock-paper-scissors game.
Tank owns DPS
DPS owns Caster
Caster owns Tank
(where 'support' fit in, I can't remember - though I think they were tied in with Casters)

Oh... thats one thing about WoW I liked, some people said ''as a mage I can never beat a warrior or rogue'' but I won 8 out of 10 duels usually. I never viewed WoW as R.P.S. type game but some people said it was.. I hope in WAR you can counter the typical R.P.S. atmosphere with skill.

Did you ever experience a rogue vs. tank fight?
4 level disadvantage to the tank? Not an issue. Wrong spec for dealing with rogues? No problem. Both at the same time? Well you might need a potion.
And a Mage beating a Rogue is rather unlikely if they both use all their cooldowns - the point of stealth is that you can safely recharge semi-long cooldowns while reporting enemy movements to your team.
And finally a Warrior's chance against a Mage (or better yet, Hunter) is next to none. In level 59 I could actually take on Warriors in melee with my hunter - evenly geared 'n' all.

As a mage I could kill rogues with ease I actually found them one of the easier classes to duel... so not quite sure how a mage beating a rogue is unlikely.

"Lightly armored and agile, capable of closing long distances rapidly "
Sounds like the charge ability alot of us were talking about on the forum before...I for one and completely psyched now. I also am glad they dropped the "positional attacks" reference in the description, they sound much less "Rogue-like." (For the record I do not want WE's to play like a Rogue before the hate posts pop up)
I'm thinking positional attacks may work more like this: Witch Elf charges at the enemy, does some close dmg attacks. Hits agile escape, regains some health. WE then runs back towards the enemy, gets withing 25m of him and hits some kind of special charging attack.
My thinking is positional as in distance, not so much as a "backstab"...although the various charging specials could work better from behind or the flank possibly.
Just my thoughts on how it may work.

Well the actual level of the RPS mechanic is unkown.
As in could a better geared DPS own a tank?
Could a more skilled Caster own a DPS ?
etc. etc.
All we know is the basic format of the RPS, rather than its actual strengths.

Depends at what point in game mechanics you're talking from. Back in the day, cooldown spamming Rogues had a huge edge on Mages--these days, there's almost no way for a Rogue to really deal with an Ice Mage, even if they blow every cooldown, twice.
If it's an even Ice Mage vs. Rogue fight and the two have a vague idea they're there--the Ice Mage wins. (Stupid water elemental).
I guess it's official. Elves don't have nipples (http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/media/newsletter/2007_09/WElfie_0907_06.jpg).

In T rated games they don't.
But try looking at Morathi art-work ;)
Really I'm just surprised they would make a top like that.

Its CONCEPT art. Do I really need to explain what the term concept means?
If this was in game already THAT would be another thing but its not. ;)
Elves aren't mammals imo.

Looking closely at that you actually can see a nipple, it just blends in with her skin color.
And it's a T rated game................therefore the Warhammeryness is censored.

Krull the mere fact that you examined that picture enough to see that scares me...
It's not like I'm suggesting there be nipples, there no reason to point out why there is not, and that this is a T rated game. It was a joke about a funny piece of concept art.

I hope there is enough warhammer style in the Witch Elves in-game. The concept art is very Warhammer, and I expect the in game portion to be decent also.

1) You were in a duel. You knew you were under attack. A proper rogue doesn't put up a flagpole and tell you he's trying to attack you.
2) He was probably planning on having another duel within the next few minutes and thus saved most his cooldowns.
3) He probably weren't specced for dealing with Mages. For example, improved Sprint is an absolute gamebreaker in those duels, and Combat is the best pick anyway as stunlocking wont work, and positionals are quite tricky.
And of course there was the whole thing about attacking a wounded target being considered unsportly. That's what rogues do. If you were killed by a Rogue, "I had 10hp left" isn't an excuse but a method.
Now if you'd said Rogue vs. Hunter you would've had me. Only time that worked against my hunter there was 4 rogues, and they still didn't get the flag.

You're quite wrong. Prep was the best way to deal with frost mages; and even then, with the trinket change, prep rogues became food to cold snap, WE mages.
Resto shaman, SL FG lock, BM hunter, and WE mage>prep rogue>everything else. This is, of course, only dueling. Hunters currently are rather screwed in arena, and most locks are not FG specced, as goes with BM hunters.
WAR is completely different, though. It is quite apparent that they do want to implement a rock, paper, scissors element to RvR, but melee dps will have the benefit of besting 2 categories instead of 1 theoretically. WAR is less of a dueling game than even WoW is.

I figured that the swirly metal bits are supposed to cover that. Or maybe they'll add spiky tassels. ;)

Spiky tassels are always a game winner.

Well in one of the many cases I fought a rogue in a BG that had epics equppied and I had blues, he used his cooldowns (I saw them go off vanish etc.)
So actually erm well yeah... just because someone can kill a rogue doesnt mean ''zomg you mustve hax0red!''

Erh.. what?
I never said anything about hacking, I just said that a Rogue who really wants to kill someone usually can. Of course, they rarely use all of their cooldowns on 1 fight, and thus become relatively easy kills, and most of the epixxed out rogues are played with kids who don't know how to do anything other than stunlocks, which is an obvious disadvantage against mages.
Oh and Vanish is only 1 of many cooldowns available to Rogues - and a rather weak 1 at that. Personally I far preferred Sprint for dealing with Mages, as it also broke freeze/chill due to the talent I just mentioned.
Anyhow, why are we having a heated argument about the game most of us have turned forumite just to avoid playing?

Because the WoW devs have made a good job of scarring people for life, especially rogues, hunters, and druids.
