View Full Version : Future Squigs!

Didn't see a thread like this in the section, so thought i'd go ahead and make it (Surprised no one else has yet!). We or I at least, have seen 5 different squigs. Basic Squig, Horned Squig, Spiked Squig, Gas Squig and that odd Tank Squig. Now, since squigs are meant to be vital or important to the squig herder for it's utility and detaunt abilities etc, i'd think it's say to say that almost certainly one way to add to the class in future expansions, is more squig types!

So, what squig types/roles would you like to see in future expansions for WAR?

'splodin' sqigs.

First of all, I don't think there is any "basic squig". Second of all, watch the new podcast, we don't have to wait for expansions. We also have Leaping Squigs, squigs that grow, squigs that shrink, and squigs that stick to you. And there may be even more!

From videos i've seen there has been a squig that looks basic to me compared to the others. It looked like Accipiter's avatar if you've ever seen that lying around. Unless thats something special also, I just called it basic squig since well.. it looked basic :p. About the leaping squig, squigs that grow, squigs that stick.. you do know Paul tends to exaggerate things right? Still doesn't change what I made the thread about, so please keep it on topic? Thank you ;).

He was on topic, theres alot more squig types then we know

And I was asking for Squig Types you'd like to see, not what squigs exist ;). Please don't try to tell me what my own topic is :p. I'm personally hoping there isn't that many more squig types. I want more squigs for future expansions and I think they might run out of creativity if Mythic jams too many in at launch. But thats not what I was asking, I was asking what Squigs would people like to see in future. Now back on topic.

Honestly isnt it hard to ask for stuff when we dont even know whats being given yet? I know from previous games they already have alot more types of pets than any other game out there. I hope they just make it to where any situation you have a squig for a good use.

The fun of it how about Seige Squigs 4-5 times the normal size, heavily armored, can break down doors, walls etc in towns.

I would love to see a "spring" type squig that would allow the Herder to be boosted or shot in a direction high and quickly. Just an interesting thought, that or make the leaping squig do it.

Well a different idea on the Spring type, what if it had Aerial attacks meant to stun and disorrient the target? It would jump up into the air and attack from above using Dive Bomp type attacks. The trick to this one could be that it damages itself and the person(the person its attacking more than itself) so the Herder would have to be careful when to use its stuns etc.

A squig that slowly builds up momentum as it goes and then bashed it's enemy to pieces. And let's not forget the nuclear squig, totally beats the rocket and what-else squigs don't you think?

You, my friend, need serious psychological help.

I want a squig that breaths fire and one that upon death, turns into a ghost and haunts the enemy for a short amount of time. Fire Squig and Spooky Squig or something.

Duplicating Squig. On each strike, it has a 50% chance to duplicate once (Let's say up to five times), and if the original one is killed, all duplicates are too. It wouldn't keep aggro, it would be incredibly weak, and a cool squig. >_>

Spitting Squig- A squig that would spit slime or something at enemies from a distance.

Mushroom Squig- A squig, that when struck, will release a spore that will disorient, stun, or even slow an enemy.

Roller Squig- A squig that would roll into a little ball and travel very quickly.

Wouldnt the Spitting Squig the same as the Spiney Squig we already have, just slime instead of spines? I would say if you did it have to go more and say it has an Acid Spit that reduces armor, and does small damage over time, an attack that slows movement and does small damage overtime, like each hit from the spit slows by 10% up to 60%, and each one does x damage over y seconds and stacks.

Actually, I didn't know about the Spiney Squig. o_O

But, sure, Digestive Acid Spit that reduces toughness by x% and does x damage over time.

The way I understand it, squigs are the most basic, unintelligent form of Greenskin. So yes, I do believe you are right.

Preliminary skill lists give us a skill that allows us to blow up our squig, doing AOE damage. So you should be set.

Another idea......Paul mentioned in one of his last interviews was squigs "that sticks to things." I wonder if that is some kind of snare?

I hope so. It would be funny as hell to see a Knight of the Burning Sun limping along with a squig stuck to him.

My thoughts on the lovely SH class :)

1) Squig ---> Base model that has just a simple melee attack

2) Spiked Squig ---> Upgraded that has a ranged attack but can also perform a melee attack when closed with.

3) Snotty Squig ---> A ranged squig that spits snot, doing light damage and snaring a target out of shear disgust.

4) Acid Squig ---> A ranged / melee squig that has a corrosive spit that causes a dot on the target.

5) Horny Squig ---> A powerful melee squig with light armor but high dps

6) Armored Squig ---> A heavily armored squig with low dps

7) Flying Squig ---> Similar to the basic squig but has the capability of flight, ignoring all terrain movement modifiers

8) Ridin' Squig ---> No combat abilities but the squig is very fast and can be used as transport for the goblin.

=============================================

Squig Abilities

1) Hez gonna blow ---> The squig herder has fed a nasty regimen of rotten shrooms, etc to the squig causing him to become very volatile. When triggered, the squig erupts and causes damage to all surrounding it.

2) Hez a bigun ---> The squig grows temporarily, damage is increased and HP is increased.

3) Watch out for da herd --> The squig herder calls forth a temporary swarm of low hp, low armor squigs. More for annoyance than anything else. After a certain period of time, the squigs become scared and run away from the enemies.

4) Squig God ---> The squig herder is able to call 2 squigs of the same or different types.

Some we have some we dont, but I really like Ability #3, I think it would be awesome to use on Mages as an annoyance, and #4 would be even more awesome but highly overpowered in all honesty, maybe if when you had 2 out damage by each was cut by 20% so you still got 50% more damage but not 100% more damage.

That would be a Turbo Squig. Those are actually present in Warhammer 40k (as conversions anyway). They have wheels instead of legs, and little rockets attached to their backs.

You can kind of see on there. In the "completed mob shot", the Squig is at the front, with the tires and spikes. It's even got goggles on :) .

I definitely want Squigs that will have a variety of colors. Nothing says style like armor and squig matching while you rain down some crucial damage.

I also want a squig that when killed explodes into a bunch of tinier, uncontrollable squigs that last for a couple of seconds and attack everything around them.

No idea what to call it, but what about a squig that removes buffs from enemies and debuffs from friendlies?

Another possibility is a pummel squig. Basically a different name for the rocket squig, but general purpose is to ram or pummel a opponent knocking them down for 1 second. Would be great for interupting casters, or anyone.

A magically inclined Squig could be fun, not sure how it would fit with Lore, but being able to do medium damage and remove buffs and debuffs depending on the target could be fun.

Well, I thought about it some, and it doesn't have to be magical. Could be a gassy squig or something. A melee squig that while in range and attacking the opponent, it emits a toxic gas that clouds the opponent's ability to recieve/benefit from buffs. The opposite applies when the gas squig is in close range to the herder, the cloud protects the herder from receiving and/or experiencing the effects of enemy debuffs.

Some people seems to like the spit and goo idea for squigs and you could play off that as well. Slime that covers the opponent and inhibits their buffs, or have the squig spew on the herder dimishing or removing the effect of debuffs.

Fun topic! I love pet classes.

Nota Squig: Sends a pack of fake squigs to attack the target in addition to the real squig. The fake squigs do no damage, can be targeted but not "killed" and last only X amount of seconds.

Oogly Squig: Has X% chance of "fearing" the target away for Y amount of time with it's uber ugliness

Beeoootiful Squig: Has X% chance of mesmerizing the target for Y amount of time with it's extremely comely and cute appearance.

Chaos Squig: Mutates into different types of Squigs randomly throughout the fight with X% chance of healing itself Y amount of HP at each mutation.

The Shaman in EQ had something similar at higher levels. Summon a pack of tiny spirit wolves that swarm the target for a short period of time. Basically a very cool looking DOT. I loved that ability :D

One more :D

Sneaky Squig: The herder can see through the Sneaky Squigs eyes to scout the enemy. Does no damage, very small and is very hard to see/sense. Maybe allow the Herder to shoot arrows into a camp from behind a hill or object (herder not in LOS, but the Squig is "spotting" for him)

NICE! I would like the chaos! I got another idea:
Burrowing squig: It can jump into the ground and wait stil or burrow under the ground with - 25 % speed but wil do extra dmg if it hits! And the squig herder can jump in the tunnel the squig made but enamies can to!

Weapon Squig: Attach a weapon or piece of armour on one of your squigs,
and the squig wil get a new attackstyle of defensive moves!
(i think it would be cool to see a squig with a *epic* attached on it!)

A squig that coughs up a huge lurgy thing that turns into another squig

A squig with a rocket up it's arse that can move as incredible speeds towards the enemy before exploding.

A squig with wings.

A squig with a huge tail with massive spikes on the end.

An undead squig that feasts on brains.

A squig I like to call the kirby squig. When it eats something, it wears their enemys costume. So if it ate a witch hunter, it'd have an awesome hat. If it ate a ironbreaker, it'd be dressed in foot thick armour. If it ate a Brit, it'd be all annoying and knightly and have a cool bucket shaped helmet. If it ate an elf, it'd grow and extra pair arms, puts it's fings where it's ears should be and prance around going "lardy dardy da, lardy dardy da". If it ate a Slann it's head would continue to grow to he could calculate the exact sum of pie then his head would exsplode in a shower of brain.
