View Full Version : Repairable class specific items are not class specific

Last night during a norden run, there were 3 repairable items that came up as loot for the group. Each item was class specific, but the need button was available for all members. As an IB, i missed out on some nice boots and gloves because the winners were a BW and WL respectively. So is it safe to say that the useable need only block is not working on items that must be repaired? And if not, why?

Items that can be repaired are not class specific. Like you can repair it to IB stuff, because your an IB, but the BW can repair it to BW stuff and so on.

Its that it shows something different to all users. Thats why it is a need for everyone. I shows a different usable item to all the different classes.

I got in a big argument with a guy one night over it and had to apologize :)

sorry buttsechs of badlands!!

I would believe that, but I have received repairable items in the past from hitting greed in a scenario and the item repaired out to what the tool tip said it would repair out to. Case in point, i received an Archmage staff (no mages in the scen) and it repaired into an archmage staff. I was not surprised, because that is what it said it would be. So how do the items now repair into another class item?

Also, if the server has to recognize every specific class for a repairable item, then that may answer the "why do the scens lag at crazy times" question. If there are six different classes in a group and the server has to change the tooltip, six different times, then would it not be more prudent for the item to be the same item across the board???

These items are indeed not career specific. Above and beyond that a reparable item may not ping up for every career either, which I think is rather odd.

An Ironbreaker would see the item as being something reparable into an Ironbreaker item. A Bright Wizard would see the item as something reparable into a Bright Wizard item and so forth. If an Ironbreaker receives the item and goes to repair it, it will become the indicated Ironbreaker item. However if they get the item, hand it to some other Order career such as a Bright Wizard and they repair it, it would become a Bright Wizard item.

These reparable items drop not just in PvP but also in PvE as well.

Well I will have to take everyone's word for it but I have to admit that on this particular situation, Mythic has made the water as clear as mud. I guess I fell victim to the old reality bug; that being that if I repair a broken TV, it is a repaired TV, not a dvd player.

Thanks for the answers and quick responses.

Its still a TV, its just a TV that anyone can watch >_>

If only your class could use said item, why would you be forced to repair it in the first place?

There are repairables which appear as "this item is not repairable into anything for your class", or something along those lines. This could be another itemization problem though.

I don't think that's an itemization bug.
I got this on a damaged shield, that I got from another player.
There is no such thing as a shield for a Shaman.

I've had them as drops as well. Not seen one in a long while though.
