Everyone likes scenarios, but as I level up I notice that either A) The same scenarios get played over and over and over again, IE, Nordenwatch, Mourkain, Tor Anroc and Serpent's Passage. Rarely do I ever get queues from any of the other ones. And B) I feel that sometimes, it seems in many cases that the scenarios are sort of one-track minded.
Why not take all the good things about PQs, instanced content, and arena-type battles and mix them all into one genre? There are thousands of options. Survival mode, you and a team enter an arena or something similar and waves of enemies come at you, with each progressive wave getting harder in terms of number of of enemies and difficulty of the enemies themselves. It culminates with a boss battle and loot. A lot of people might say that this idea is exactly what PQs are... But to be honest, it's insanely difficult to find people to do PQs with. Even with my guild (which is fairly low ranked, to be honest) fast travel is hard to come by, and thus makes travelling to other areas where friends are PQing quite annoying. The survival mode scenario would help the casual players log on, get their PvE fix, gain something for their character, and log out. This idea can of course be expanded on, and you could have entirely instanced PQs, and introduce enemy combatants. You could have NPC killfest scenarios, where there's X teams, and they have to kill Y amount of enemies in Z amount of time.
I also have an idea for another mode, which I guess I'd call something like "Fortress Mode." Basically you'd have two structures that are connected via bridges, and there could be like maybe three or so that span across the two structures, and a chasm underneath. Each fortress would have NPC guards on the insides waiting at certain chokepoints for attacking forces, and on the inside of either fort would be a lord that had to be killed. Kill the lord, win the round. I think NPC protection-based objectives would be fun in general.
But anyhow, let's mix it up a bit. I'm tired of playing the same old stuff!
