Dear Developers and fellow members of the WAR player community,

As a disclaimer, I want to innitially acknowledge that WAR is still early in its release and that despite many of the various impending refinements that are no doubt in development, the game is a remarkable accomplishments on multiple fronts.

My complaint concerns aesthetics. From what I've seen, almost every class has one. . . . maybe two different armor graphic types available to them depending on their level. Despite the rather peculiar selection of merchant dyes available, everyone looks almost exactly the same. I love the idea of the trophy system, but it isn't quite frankly enough to make one character's appearance signature. I've noticed this particularly in the case of the witch-hunter, who has innately one of the more signature appearances of all the classes. Considering how particular that look is, it seems to me that a vast spectrum of variabiliy should be available. Unfortunately, however, a witch hunter between 30-40 really only has one chestpiece (2 if a certain quest is completed or rare item is found). It may seem like a small thing, but I find this to be a considerable disappointment. Will there be more armor added to the game? Not just for high level players but for low level players? I appreciate the dye system, but it doesn't completely fulfill the purpose of customization that I believe it was meant to fulfill. I believe it is resulting in a somewhat boring aesthetic which departs significantly from the warhammer design tradition.

As a foot note, will more dye options be introduced? I understand that the merchant dye options were likely fixed to make crafters more "special", but those merchant options are really rather clownish.

I understand that changes will be made. If more members of the community appreciate this proposition, I'd appreciate your support on this thread

Sigmar's Graces,

Ithiel

I agree, I seem to remember them saying pre-release that one of their aims was for you to be able to line up 10 characters of the same class and no two would look the same. Unfortunately I keep on seeing hundreds of clones of me wander past with the only difference being their dye colour. I would be ecstatic if they were to work on creating more different armour graphics (Starting with the White Lion please!)

I believe one of the primary ways they were going to do this ended up scrapped early on. (togglable parts of armor)

White Lion is in a particularly bad spot for this, followed by Archmage & the other high elves. They were the last race to get implemented, and it definitely shows as far as gear goes. White Lion has something like 3 different helms, 4 different robes, 4 axes, etc.

Archmage has more gear options, as far as I can see, but they all look virtually identical in features from T1 to T4.

More gear art is something I'd like to see, but I think other things rightly come first.

Maybe it should let us be able to choose how our gear looks, not just given to us and we have to accept it no matter what. I hate getting an uber item and it look awful.

I think we need more armor variety in the armor skill/resist area. I mean, every other level your green items are pigeon holed into what you'll be best at the next 2 levels.

Not enough customization in that aspect.

I agree. I want to wear a burlap sack like a level 1 magus... and wield a shovel. That is my archmage aestetic. I'd settle for at least being able to look different than i have for countless pieces of armor over 30+ levels.

An ancient game named EQ had this somewhat figured out for a while, then they started making all the "good" items look basically the same, and most players dyed themselves black and red...

PS, is there a way to unlock more dye options on the vendors? certainly room in the UI for more options than the repetitive stuff I see now.
