Sabres

Will Kotbs just use the standard ; longsword, broadsword.. well basically straight edge weapons or will we get to use some curved blades? not just sabres but scimitars too?

Anybody have any idea? i would really not like to be limited to straight edged swords.

HRE, thus the Empire didn't use sabres or the like so I highly doubt. If Araby is included in an expansion, their careers would use them.

I'm personally hoping we get sabres. The better to cave in a man's skull while fighting horseback.

Most likely only straight edges, as per the Germanic nature of the Empire, but who knows?

The Order was founded during the crusade, and their deity is primarily worshipped in Estalia (who would also have some curv-ish blades), and well, curved blades have their advantages as well, something that the practical Myrmydians would surely realise, so maybe there will be something akin to sabres or scimitars.

I think it would be possible lore wise to fit in sabres; knights equip themselves and many may have influences from places outside the direct empire; especially Kotbs.

For instance Kislev and Araby used curved blades, those are just 2 that i know of.

And although empire is based off the HRE during the rennaisance (Sp?) I beleive their fast cavalry did use curved blades, they may not be knights... but its something.

The Knights of the Blazing Sun worship Myrmidia, and most Myrmidian worshippers come from Tilea and Estalia. Estalia being an analogy to Spain, and thus having been invaded by Araby, has Arabian cultures and thus it WOULD make sense for Blazing Suns to use curved blades.

I don't believe they will be "restricted" to straight blades.

I think you will only see straight blades as none of the areas that are included in the game have any reason to have curved blades. Curved blades do not fit in any of the current settings.

I would imagine that when such an area is added you will see/get curved blades.

The areas that are included in the game are ,. well areas of the empire.. empire is based loosely on the Holy Roman Empire, im no history buff but its very likely that some knights in the HRE used curved blades. It is known that curved blades were standard for rennaisance erra fast cavalry.
