i was wondering what the difference is between the two.
Not the culture and the armor/weapons but more os the actual elf themselves. I understand that all DEs have black hair, or i could be wrong.

This is just something i was wanting to know. If i ever decide to draw one i would like to know the difference in appearance as far and their body.

Well besides facial expressions and emotions they are the same exact race just split apart so their body structure isnt really different.

I know they're the same race but it does seem like the High Elves have golden hair coloring and Dark Elves have black or pure white hair.

I've been meaning to ask if there is a lore reason for that - do the DE dye their hair or was it their use of evil magic os something?

Dunno, the Dark elves originate from the northern part of Ulthuan, maybe elves from that region had black hair. :-? I'm not sure if there is a lore explanation why the different elf races have different hair collour.

here is a better question.... They speak the same language right???

Unlike the other races, would they be able to understand eachother or will they default it at unable to talk/hear to eachother....

Even in battle words are exchanged...

Additionally, Dark Elves are paler then High Elves on the average, simply because their homeland is darker. Figured that was worth noting.

Lorwise, I think Dark Elves have their own language, or dialect, but also speak the original language.

In-WAR however, they sure as hell are NOT going to allow the two Realms to speak to each other. Too many bad things arise from that.

"The Dark Elf language is in essence very similar to the Eltharin tongue of their High Elf foes. It is based on the dialect spoken in Nagarythe at the time of Aenarion, but has been altered subtely over the millennia to better suit the dark character of the Druchii and the chill desolation of their homeland.

The written form of Drukh-Eltharin [The Dark Elf language] is also rooted in the Eltharin language of Ulthuan. However, shortly after the Sundering, Malekith made the decision to radically revise the system of writing used by his subjects. Along with Hotek, Morathi and Furion, he created a new system of writing, using similar rune-forms to the original Eltharin language, but combining them together into complex sigils rather than arranging them in lines to form words and phrases. This method makes written Drukh-Eltharin more suitable for use in sorcery, as a whole spell can be encoded into a single symbol. The complicated rules of sigil-construction also render it almost impossible for anyone unfamiliar with the language to decipher a message of any significant length written in Drukh-Eltharin. Even amongst the loremasters of the Tower of Hoeth in Ulthuan, there are no more than a handful capable of understanding Drukh-Eltharin sigils containing more than a dozen or so word forms. Mere human scholars find it difficult to accurately determine the meaning of even the most elementary phrases of this twisted language."

So basically, the Dark Elves would most likely understand the High Elves perfectly (or fairly near pefrectly), whereas the High Elves in return would struggle to understand the Dark Elves - it would be like talking to someone with a rather broad accent - even though they speak the same language underneath.

However in terms of writing, the High Elves (as stated above) have absolutely no hope in working out what the Dark Elves have written, whereas in reverse the Dark Elves can read High Elf script - as it's what theirs is based on.

From what I read, they....KNOW HE language, but they made their own because they feel they are a brand new race, so they speak their own tounge. I'm sure they will still be filtered because they speak their own tounge as seperatists rather then speaking the 'lower' tounge of their cousins.

Dark Elves originated from a certain population of Elves that have Darker hair. It is just like the difference between your average Frenchman and your Swede. The French are going to have a higher degree of darker haired people, yet there are still some blond haired French and some dark haired Swedes.
