I'm sure this question has been posted before however I could not find it and forgive me for asking a redundant question, but aside from the fact that you can customize your character like skulls and capes and such, what about creating the way your character looks? From the pictures I've seen the classes seem to only each get a couple different looks to them, will we be able to custom change the type of hair/facial hair/ color right from the get go like in WoW or CoH/CoV?

They'll have character customization at the start of the game. Roughly more than WoW, less than CoH.

Why how good was CoH's character creation? Like age of conans?

I don't know how good Age of Conan's is. But CoH was probably better. Considering you could even add robot arms and... stuff.
I played that game for about a month just creating new characters. Doing just that.

Appearance options aren't fully fleshed out and remember that most of the NPCs in screenshots are just placeholders.
There won't be sliders to adjust proportion either.

I hope they do not allow adjusting proportions... I do not want to see any of the problems I heard they had in CoH with guys playing female characters with the chest slider to the max.
Most likely it will be a lot like DAoC's later model, which I thought worked well. It has much more options compared to WoW, but still not as many as Oblivion.

I think it's pretty much set in stone that there won't be any sliders for proportion adjustment. They're very adamant on the whole "recognizable silhouette" idea. It'll be a more choose a face, choose some hair, choose some colors type of system for sure.

*raises hand* ...guilty. Though, in my defense, my character (Riot Grrl) was a militant feminist bent on destroying the phallocracy. ;)

In CoH the charcter customization was both ablessing and a curse.
It was great to be able to create pritty much any charcter you wished. However, you'd end up with people running around with wolf heads, frogs legs, angel wings, horns, and robot arms at the same time....seriously, I thought about all of these people think it's ok to wear socks with sandals...
Anyway, I think the customization will be better than the-game-that-shall-not-be-named, lightly you'll be able to change scars, eye colour, hair style, noses, mouths etc. But don't expect warrior priests with hair, Elves with beards, orces with blue eyes. It just won't happen.
Edit: Whats the problem with proportion sliders? I can understand the whole thing with every girl having breasts that cause back problems but surely with facial features its ok?

Clipping was a problem as well. To make some things work, they just ended up looking funky.
