Theres probably been topics on this before, but I wouldn't mind making a new thread.

So, as the title says, whats your favorite movie?

For me its a toss up between Casino and Pulp Fiction. I'd probably have to say Pulp Fiction, but its a very hard choice.

Aliens

or

Serenity

Though I was pretty impressed with Transformers. And I really like The fifth Element.

I wasn't all that impressed with Transformers to be honest. The effects were amazing but some bits seemed a bit childish. Especially the scenes with that stupid miniature Decepticon; God that thing was annoying.

I'd probably have to agree, Pulp Fiction is easily one of the best films ever made.

That said, if the Matrix is on, everything gets put back one in the priority league. I know it word for word and there isn't one part I don't enjoy. However, it's hard to choose between the two, because Pulp is so damn funny.

Oh and by Matrix I mean the first one. Not the trilogy. The first one.

When Smith was beaten up with one hand and when you thought that was air you were breathing. The good film.

Defenitly Braveheart for me, must have watched that move over 20+ times. Defenitly Mel Gibson's best movie to date and what a classic.

Im not totally obsessed with fantasy, i just like games <.>

I think my favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption and it really doesn't have any action compared to the movies you guys mentioned, more drama and realism. The thing is you are entertained the entire way through. I cried the first time i saw that movie (I was alone of course) and i have seen it about 15 times and it is fantastic compared to Schindler's list which stole all its awards. In fact, i think im gonna go watch it my 16th time :)

Actually, it lost Best Picture to Forrest Gump. That was a good year, with Shawshank, Gump, Quiz Show, and Pulp Fiction. Personally, I think Quiz Show was the best of those choices, but I enjoyed them all.

Schindler's List was the year before.

My favorite movie is Star Wars. Top 5 would be:

1. Star Wars
2. Vertigo
3. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
4. Edward Scissorhands
5. Fight Club

My favorite movie is Star Wars. Top 5 would be:

1. Star Wars

I consider my self a big Star Wars fan, but I can't point to one single movie the stuck out as a favorite, instead it has to be the entire series of movies. Personally, I like the Old Republic stories the best.

No offense but I loathe V for Vendetta...It was just too long.

I'm also not a big fan of V. I think it's worth seeing once, mostly because Natalie Portman is onscreen and looking gorgeous for a good portion of it. Beyond that, there are just way too many problems with the movie.

Spoilers for V for Vendetta follow:

----------------------------

Don't British people hate Guy Fawkes? And how is everyone getting together and wearing the same costume symbolic of freedom? Why is blowing up Parliament - the represenatitive portion of government - a move towards freedom? If everyone is so repressed, why do they stand around all day, in public, making smartass comments about the government? How does killing a TV personality - an old man naked in the shower - make any kind of worthwhile political statement?

Edit - Here's a review of V that I agree with: http://www.calendarlive.com/movies/reviews/cl-et-vendetta17mar17,0,7401157.story

I agree in some respects. I've been a mild Carrey fan, mostly for his comedy (since that's what he mostly does), but I wasn't a fan of those sappy movies before this. But I really loved Eternal Sunshine. It got me into watching other sappy movies just like it.

But not many, of course.

1) Stand by Me, just a beautiful, tragic movie.

2) Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back, as a huge SW nerd, I fricking love this movie.

3) Blade Runner, an incredible movie with one of the most touching scenes in movie history (imo) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpgR6nZE_Rc (if you have not seen Blade Runner DO NOT click on the link)

4) The Atomic Bomb Movie, not easy to find and not so much a movie but more of a documentary on the numerous nuclear weapons testing over the span of several decades the US, Russia, and China have done. Truly one of the scariest movies I ever seen, horror movies, nothing, just excuses for wanton violence and/or to be creepy (the latter being what defines a horror movie, of course), this movie is based on documented fact, and it is absolutely terrifying to learn the results of those numerous tests.

5) The Fox and the Hound, such an adorable movie and yet so sad, breaks my heart every time I watch it... :(
