We've recently introduced a change to improve/fix this. Can anyone report if this is currently happening? (Like since 8:30PM EST)

That's correct,

If you haven't done so please relog and let us know how it is now. We haven't announced this change on the Herald yet as we're looking into its success and adjusting as necessary.
