View Full Version : accomplishments: Mob solo kill
ToK is about letting other see how uber u are and bragging about it ;)
in WoW i played a warlock and loved to solo things. things as in Elite mobs, not little bunnys and trash mobs;)
i know what u are going to say, that its easy to solo, u just need fear, DoT's and a chair.
but i mean the mobs with Fear wards and solo those. when u solo a mob like that it feels u did a good job.
the reward i am thinking of is just a note like u killed <insert mob name> solo
just to give the feeling "Good job, u found a way to kill this Overpowered PvE Mr. solo"
u can always give it a Title ofc
i killed a Hatcher solo and the memory of that still gives me a smill :D
(Hatcher BlackWingLair mob, Fear Ward, Raid instance on the way to the Broodlord)
bit of a problem is did u realy kill the mob solo.
if u are in a instance alone yes i guess so but in the openworld....
u must have done all the damage to the mob and had no healing of another player
is this worth the programming? and does that mean u are going to check this every time u kill a Hard mob.
hope u guys like the idea pls give me some feedback and what u think about it

I like the idea of "solo" kills achievement. People will find a way to exploit it but so what it just gives you a ToK note.
I was a hunter in WoW so I solo'd a lot of elite mobs as well. But, the funnest thing to do was kite the rare 70+ infernal and the 2 headed dog(looked like mag in MC but was for a quest) in the shadow lands to the horde town and get sweet lewts. This was really fun even though I didn't kill him solo it was still really hard, and I could have killed them solo it just would have taken hours to do and on a PvP server it would have been near impossible to accomplish w/o getting ganked.
Yea agree that some parts of the ToK should check if you are solo and give you a special credit for that.

Kill Karl Franz with a Cricket Bat.
Hellgate: London referance correct? :p
Oh and on topic that would be a great addition to the ToK. It would track certain mobs and anyone who did 100% of the damage to kill it would get the accomplishment. But it would also have to track healing recieved by the player. And possibly other stuff.
Still it could be done I'm sure.

"reward" players of a multiplayer game for doing things solo.........
"reward" players of a multiplayer game for doing things solo.........
lol aye that sounds silly
but ToK is made fore only 1 player
so u are saying why have a book that is only about u when u play a multiplayer game
because it doesn't record how many mobs are killed by everyone on the server only how many u killed and rewarded fore that

Who knows ? Maybe you'll have a part saying: "You killed 2% of those mobs from the server total" ... that would be really nice imo. Or something saying like:
Kills / Total Kills:
100 / 1567486
Don't know if it's really a good idea or not. In an MMO for you to beat a mob one on one requires simply a strategy and a certain gear level and configuration, every thing can be quantized and it would be very simple to write a program to control any player to beat a solo mob over and over again. After a while people are going to post simple strategies and setups for beating the mobs and it just won't be worth mentioning after too long.
In fact I don't think there's going to be any quantifiable means of measuring any player's skill except by his guild mates' opinions. And overall the guild as a fighting unit will have a somewhat accurate measure of their skill by how well they perform against other RvR groups and their raid progression.
TBH, there are going to be certain mobs that only certain classes will be capable of downing and that'll be entirely due to the characteristics of that class, not the players' skill necessarily. And that means, whether it actually is relevant or not to RvR, that players of other classes will use it to say that class X is overpowered because they can solo mob Y and my class Z can't.

It's just an extra thing to put on your bragging rights page. Anyone who starts arguing about RvR balance issues based on some class beeing able to solo some PvE mob isn't worth listening to anyway.
Some people will always find something to whine about, and that shouldn't get in the way of implementing a fun little feature that encourages players to test the limits of their class.

A take off of this idea might apply to RvR as well. Kill an opponent 5 levels higher than you solo, etc.

I think they should be mostly RvR based.
Longest time in RvR without dying:
Most kills without dying:
Most kills in an hour (some timeframe):
Most dmg/healing done on one hit/cast:
Total enemies vanquished:
Total deaths in RvR:
Kill to Deathratio:
Most Killed Enemy (this would be your rival)
Killed most by:
Stuff like that so I can see how I am doing against others. I like the idea of how many kills you got compared to the realm, but for RvR. Maybe even show your rank?
Obviously the last two would assume there is no cross server queues for most instances. I think that would promote more community also.
"Damn insertnamehere keeps me killing me! He has killed me 153 times"
