I've been fascinated with swords ever since I learned of the Medieval Age so I would have to say I'm playing a Swordmaster.

This will actually be the first time I will be playing a non-human character in an mmo much less an elf. They're doing a really good job on all the careers to make them appealing.

Something intrigues me about playing a melee pet class; in my MMO experience I haven’t seen anything among the like. Although I will not be making a High Elf my main character, I will probably make a White Lion Alt.

Not really.
We all like white lions, however, when the game releases, i can assure you white lions will be a less played class.
Shadow warriors, will be immensively overplayed.
Them, and witch hunters probably.

Its normal for them to be popular in these kind of polls, considering they can appeal to anyone. Melee DPS Pet class, huge axe, lion as a hat and its an Elf.

Shadow Warrior for me. I have always loved bows and ranger-type characters, even back in the old 2nd edition D&D days lol. Anyone remember Gateway to the Savage frontier? :D

I have tried to ingrain myself into many characters, and found one thing rising to the surface. I absolutely have to have the ability to heal myself and others. If I were given 1 ability in real life along these lines it would be a hard choice between healing any kind of sickness or to ignite people into a giant swirling ball of flame. LOL. Beyond anything else I've found I am really only comfortable in Support style classes. I love being a primary healer, and I love being useful to a group in many different ways. Definitely an Archmage for me.

and just so you dont feel like an oddball Eldaran, I also seem to have a preoccupation with healing types for the reasons you listed (just look at my sig) but I can never play a straight healer. I always gravitate to the healer hybrid classes because I like options with my healing. So yes, WAR is like my own personal hybrid wet dream. :mrgreen: I have, do and will play non healers but as you can see by my career choice my main will be a WP. :empire: :cool: (I guess I really should spend time on that forum :p)

I'm gonna play and Archmage, I've always played some type of straight DPS class in MMOs and would really like the change of pace that support provides. My brother will be playing a White Lion, so I think that we will make quite the team and plan on putting ourselves in many 2vN situations and still come out on top.

That being said, I've always had a thing for Swordmasters. They were a lot cooler in the 5th edition TT, but supposedly they got some killing power back in 7th. Ah, well, I just want my big sword with flashy moves. :D

I always enjoyed the Cleric classes of D&D. Lots of armor and lots of wonderful holy spells. Archmage seems like a nice medium for everything i like in a support class.

Totally, agree with you Nerothos. Best swordsman in the world, combine it with some inherent magic use....now add a huge marvelous greatsword that you can wield like a matchstic....you can't go wrong choosing a Swordmaster /drool. At TT even when Swordmasters didn't have any kind of magic use on them were my favorite regiment. I agree they were a bit better back in 5th edition which book I have. Now they add the ability to use some magic in this game...how can you actually say no to them;)

Not neccesarily, this is the reason may Buddhists take up martial arts, if they can maintain a calm, distraction free state in the middle of a fight, then doing it while meditating would be easy.



As for me if I have a HE Alt, it would be eithier a WL or SM depending on how the WL will work

Heal types generally start off the least played. That changes though as necessity and demand for them increases, people begin to make them.

Im sure these poll results will change ALOT after we get in-depth information about ALL the WAR careers. Archmage could be very popular if they do the animations, spells and armour sets right.
