A quote from the second warhammer Beta update on war herald:
(such as Uncontrollable Warping, which makes your mutated arm explode right off of your body, damaging everything nearby...and you, too!).
How do you see this working? and what do u think will happen after like a debuff and a huge call down on everything while your arm grows back? was hoping it would be like a boomerang effect or would it be just a huge explosion.
Some great new info, really can not wait.
What do you guys think?

This reminds me of kamikaze magesquads in the general's room in Alterac Valley.
But anyway, it's sounds like a cool ability. I just hope the devs put implement it right so people can't commit suicide with it instead of getting executed by the enemy.

Between Bright Wizards and Marauders blowing themselves up in combat, I'm looking forward to seeing lots of bodies (and parts thereof) flying around! :) :)

Last resort Kamikaze action? Only if it can be used right away but if it takes a little bit to actually USE it or a build up of some sort I see it more as a tactical sledge hammer to be used with caution.

Sounds like an awesome ability to me. I wonder if it harms teamates you just you and the enemy. A couple Magus, a marauder, and a Zealot and you have yourself a good AE-PvP group! I'm glad we got a few more Marauder abilities though, I updated all the new abilities and information for the Marauder here (http://www.chaoswarhost.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=25)
Hopefully we'll get some more Marauder or Chaos information in November's Letter!

Given the casting time to create a morphed limb, I'd say that the Uncontrollable Warping bit is probably not going to be a very effective AoE, in fact, it's probably just a really powerful frontal arc or possibly PBAE effect. Probably not much different than what other Melee DPS receive, but made more powerful due to the fact that it both hurts you and forces you to resummon your arm. Of course, if you are going to switch out which you are using anyhow, then using the PBAE to get rid of it just before you grow the new limb isn't a bad idea.

maybe a last resort move??? After it explodes would it grow back???
Would you take any DMG from the blow???
If I were a developer I would have the mechanics of the move be availible at 10% health or below. Which would DMG the marauder somewhere between 5% and 8%.
I would like the whole " Im going to die, might as well take a few of these with me!"

i'm gonna assume that boom, you and everyone takes damage, arm goes flying off, and then some grotie regeneration happens and you get a whole new arm, real quick like.

sounds like the Hellfire ability of WoW warlocks...but way cooler.

Well, I tend to agree with those guys seeing it as a last resort. If you blow that thing off, and you don't have a healer at hand while some enemies remains tanding, you'd probably go down real quick.
It's an awesome idea, though.

I love the idea of this skill seeing as how I'm sort of a sore loser, I would just blow myself up every time I'm about to die. :skull:

You should make a Bright Wizard alt then. There is a tactic that makes yourself explode on death*, you don't even have to do anything but equip the tactic.

After being somewhat disappointed a while back by an interview with Josh saying that the Marauder's mutations will be random, I'm really liking the way they've changed the direction of the Marauder, and how its shaping up now.
It seems like our concerns were heard, and I'm much happier that the Marauder has become more of a stance class which I'd hoped it would be, than a random button mashing class. Having to change mutation in different situations to gain a better advantage against different classes appeals to me so much more. Now this Uncontrollable Warping is pretty much the icing on the cake. The idea of fighting to the death, and then when you're opponent thinks they've got you, you explode your mutation, killing yourself and hopefully your enemy along with you.
My only issue is having only three mutations, but if they have different skins then I think I'll survive.

all of the mutations look pretty different imo...plus maybe marauders can get mutations as tropies...like an extra unusable arm...or spiky bits or extra mouths etc.

That'd actually be really cool, and I hope thats the case as apposed to just skulls, beaks etc.

I really hope that that BW tactic doesn't stay. Reminds me too much of Martyrdom in CoD4, which has ppl pull the pin on a grenade right when they die, which is the most annoying thing in the world. I could see that tactic frustrating a lot of people.

Its not activated though, so it only happens when they die (you still get the kill too).
Also, it would be useless against anyone but tanks and meele dps (and meele support). Considering they wouldn't be close enough to get damaged.

Unless your rip off your arm and throw it at them mutating wildly :3 Ah the thing, where would a marauder be without that movie?

the mutated arm should rip off and turn into a wild vortiguant(from halflife)-like monster that goes crazy and attacks anyone nearby.

I was talking about Bright Wizards. I have no idea how the Marauder one works.
