This is from the last newsletter (November):

When Beta reopens, players will be treated to what we’re calling our “Dark Elf Sneak Peek”. During the first weekend, the Beta Community will be able to play through the Dark Elf starting and Tier 1 areas with two new careers. We are going to ease players back into the Beta to spend some quality time with the Dark Elves, as well as with many newly updated UI elements, such as the Tome of Knowledge. We are looking forward to hearing the community’s thoughts on these areas of the game.

So it doesn't sound like all careers are going to be in when beta restarts. They told us that they would try to get all careers in, and they couldn't get them all in at reopening of beta.

They say two "new". That could either be new like playable (as in, any two of the careers) or the two "new" ones, that aren't the WE and BG.

I would assume they just mean two careers in general (and probably the BG and WE). As well as the unplayable Chaos/Order classes (Marauder and such).

Don't really think they sais all the elves would be in, actually.
And now that I think about it, even during these last events were WAR's been played (Dreamhack etc.) the Marauder wasn't even playable.
If they've managed this far without that, I'm sure they can launch the beta with just a few of the elf classes playable from the beginning.

Yes, but how likely is this? I would say not very likely. They are in fact new careers because we all know that they haven't been playable. Based on the last newsletter, I would think only the Sorcerer and the Witch Elf will be playable.

Why would you think the Sorc playable but the BG not?

I wasn't trying to say it was likely, just that the wording was not cut and dry.

My money would be on the BG/WE.

Either that or we have kinda guessed the last HE class already so its not like its going to be a huge surprise. Would you want to hear simply....."yeah cool, thats what we all thought" or "OMFH #@%&* I cant believe thats what the final DE class is!!!!!"

That leaked poster pretty much gives us the reason for releasing the DE Hybrid.

Can you just imagine the controversy if the DE on that poster was something not a Sorc, Black Guard OR Witch Elf???! :shock: :mrgreen:

I think the marketing department of pure evil has stepped in more now that we are finally getting closer to having all the classes named.

I think they are trying to prolong the anticipation and excitement to increase traffic and revenue..

But what they are really doing is pissing the hell out of those of us who have waited patiently for some kind of word on this.

Also if they had anything to do with Paul's vague class description in the newsletter, then they are really messing with fire.

I know its there job to do crap like this and cross promote, but being intentionally vague and then making us buy a magazine to find out the info we should have been told straight out, is neither cute nor endearing and it might just have the opposite effect than they had hoped.

I don't think it was thier intention to be so vague as to the role of the sorc., as a Mythic staff mamber (sorry, I can't remember who) confirmed that the Sorc. was RDPS only a few days after the video was released. If the marketing department really wanted us to antisipate the class' role, they would have made us wait until the end of the month to find out. Now THAT would be evil!

They are obviously not entitled to give you any information, heck most companies will give out a very limited amount of information just enough for hype.

im soooo looking forward to seeing this class in WAR... i actually have a friend who used to have like the top Beastlord (which was pretty much a monk type class with a pet) on his server from the original EQ and i've never seen anybody so excited before when i mentioned the great possibility that there would be White Lions in this game.
