I'm sorry to say that after 4 months time, nothing much has really changed. What have they really done so far? Sure they have fixed client bugs, but in terms of content and class balance they have really done nothing. All these issues should have been fixed before the game even came out of beta. They added 2 classes you say? more like they took out 2 classes during closed beta and then reintroduced them later under the guise of "new content." Boy what a scam. No new dungeons or maps or anything- all the events were pretty lackluster.

But what I am reallyy ticked off about are the class balancing issues. The way mythic seems to do things is to purposefully leave skills broken or unfinished until they figure out what to do with it later. The sheer amount of broken skills is absurd. If they find that a newly implemented skill is working too well and they need to get rid of it fast, what do they do? they break it to the point of uselessness (on your guard!).

Balancing classes is a really hard thing to do you say? Look at guild wars. Each class has like a hundred skills and all classes are pretty balanced. The devs were serious about pvp and tried to fix bugs and balance classes right away. Even during the first few months of release I never thought any particular class was gimped. And if any of you have played guild wars, you know that the game as well as character skills were intricate and very complicated.

But what do we get? Out of the box half the skills in WAR were messed up or broken to some degree upon launch. Now, 4 months later maybe only 3 skills from my main character have been fixed. The only new "content" we get are quest fixes and minor adjustments to influence/renown system.

And on another note: How long do you all thing you can stay in this game? Most people are reaching 40 already and are on their way to RR80. but then what? theres not much incentive to keep on grinding and orvr post 40, just a couple of novelty items here and there.

IMO this is 1 of the most balanced games, in terms of Classes, I've played and am hugely impressed by the whole game.

Unfortunately, WoW has somewhat ruined future MMORPGs because the game is based around loot, loot, loot, and is PVE based, hence why WoW has no PVP. WAR is PVP based and PVE is very lacking. Sadly, too many people love WoW PVE and so come to WAR and get disappointed by this. And in RVR all people want is loot, loot, loot.. did DAoC have loot for RVR? Nope, none. It was ALL based around Realm Points and Realm Skill Points which were used to purchase your Realm Abilities, there was no loot and that game had the best RVR system ever.

Sadly, I feel that Mythic has gone a bit backwards for their Renown Ability rewards, it's hugely lacking compared to that of DAoC's, and so to balance it out they had to include PVP/RVR rewards, and now because of WoW people want more and more loot. And tbh this game relies less on gear than DAoC ever did. So past 40 there is the RVR battles, Fortress battles (which are getting fixed slowly but surely) and endgame City Sieges, which all increase your RR, once RR80 is reached they will increase it, but I really hope they improve the Renown Abilities as they are severly lacking atm. I couldn't care less about loot, as long as Renown Abilities are improved I'll be happy!

You would think that, considering the game is balanced in Destros favor at the moment.

The grass is always greener. ;)

1. Destro has AOE Disables and AOE Disorients on frontline careers, while Orders CC is either on our backline squishies that can't push or defend, or AOE knockbacks that are useless in tight spaces. Order has no frontline AOE disorient and one AOE disable on a 30 sec CD. This gives Destro a huge upper hand in keep siege defense and offense, where lag makes disables and disorients 5x worse.
2. Black Orcs are the best survivability tanks when specced defensively. Order has no tank that can compare survivability wise in keep defense.
3. Witch Elves - straight up OP in frontloaded armor ignoring/unmitigatable burst damage, especially against tanks.
4. An R4 targeted AOE morale that does 2400 damage (perfect for breaking up keep blockades). Orders only comparable ability is 600 less AOE damage.
5. Dire Shielding + Bane Shield has no group limit - it affects everybody around the Chosen, not just those in his group, and it stacks with other Bane Shields/lasts far longer than its normal duration under lag. This makes it very easy to shut down Order DPS (especially AOEs).

It's ok, I rarely get destro players admitting that those are real balance issues, just a lot of denying, apologizing, lying, trolling, etc.

Good thing i'm not Destro, huh?

It's a neverending cycle of pointing fingers. It wastes too much energy so i'm not going to try to discuss it.

"Destruction/Order is imbalanced" people should be banned from this forum.

Now going back to the original topic: I hope when things settle down more we're going to see more bug and balance fixing. Remember that they did add quite a bit over the last few patches, like the new careers and the oRvR influence reward system. These are pretty major additions for a patch and I'm sure that took up most of the development time.

And on another note: How long do you all thing you can stay in this game? Most people are reaching 40 already and are on their way to RR80. but then what? theres not much incentive to keep on grinding and orvr post 40, just a couple of novelty items here and there.
I find the game fun enough without constantly needing a carrot on a stick to chase. I do hope WAR doesn't devolve into something similar like WoW, where tier after tier of new gear is added just to keep you busy.

So anyone discussing class balance in a class balance forum should be banned, interesting.

No, but people throwing around unproductive content and insults like you did should be. Read the Forum Rules, please.

This thread is a class balance thread, but really it's nothing more than some unfocused rant with no real productive discussion value. You want to leave negative feedback? Fine, but don't just turn it into a complaint with no suggestions, details, or constructive value.
