Could it be possible to assemble a team of, say, 6 Shaman and have each Shaman cast this ability in sequence to travel long distances in shorter time?

Possibly but, I don't know if diminishing returns only works on CC.

I'm sure it does to a certain extent, but not on everything and not as much to friendly players.

Well if you could, would you want to? I could potentially see Shamans lfg just to get around. On the other hand I could see some people griping about it.

Oh man I hope so, that would be awesome.

Melee and Ranged dps classes would eat a party of 6 Shamans alive. I love the Shaman class, I really do, but I really don't see how that group could work against any half-decent group, speed boost or not. It's a cool ability, if it makes the final cut, but it surely isn't class defining.

I'm fairly certain the OP didn't mean about a serious PVP team, and more about just getting 6 together to get across zones faster.

Aye.

The cons of a one-class team of 6 are obvious.

I guess that would depend on whether the ability stacks or not.

*edit*

Whoops. Missed the word "sequence", so nevermind the stacking.

Dunno, a Shaman team might not do too badly. They all just cluster up to protect one of them for being the main healer, the rest focus fire their lifetaps and dots to build up Waaagh, using it to do an (near?)instant heal when necessary (warhammerinfo lists a heal that casts faster based on waagh).

If they pick off the ranged and coordinate their "Eeek!" ability properly to counter melee they could actually be quite an annoying team to fight. Especially considering many of the Healer Archetype morale abilities seem to be in the form of either big group heals/rezzes, lifetaps, or group lifetaps.

It probably wouldn't take 6 shamans to keep the speed up- don't know what the cooldown is though.

Who knows, 6 shamans might make a great spike team. And unlike a group of 6 Ranged DPSers, they have the utility and healing power to keep all its members up. That and the movement buff that started this discussion would give a huge movement advantage over a group of DPSers. Movement+Range+Healing is not a bad combo.

this.. this would make a nice hole in the enemy's force.

Unless we were up against like 6 bright wizards, it would be hell
oh boy would it be fun

i don't see why not.

Honestly I didn't even consider the actual damage potential and/or combat potential, but hearing about it makes me wonder.

But I would say 4 Shaman, a Black Orc and a Choppa would probably work better.

Don't forget that since Shaman are the Greenskins only magic user, they have pretty decent nukes as well. Plus some CC.

Still though, I would feel more comfortable with at least one meat shield, and with that much healing power it wouldn't take much. How about a squig herder?

would probably work but wouldn't mounting up probably be faster?

Yes, but think of the 6-man team 'Goblin tossing' competitions, man!

switch out a shaman for a squig herder.

squig herders seem cool on paper but something tells me they wont perform that well in combat ... they are like a utility range class rather than pure dps class

more snares than dmg from what's been shown so far

Usually when it comes to PvP, utility wins over pure damage. Especially slowing effects and stuns.

Depends on the game. I know plenty of casters that have been victim to DAoC Bolts and Warlocks. Guild Wars rangers had some utility, but were more prized for the dps they could put out.

6 person group is the max? I must be the last person to hear about this :(

if you are reffering to the Waaagh! ability that increses party speed by 50%, it is over when you do any sort of action...you cant attack with the buff...it is for either charging in really fast or running away really fast.
