View Full Version : Class Balance..How bout Developer balance?

I swear the Dev's have never played a pvp game or FPS with any seriousness. There is way to much "cheese" in WAR to think it came from hardcore gamers. Real gamers do not think to add magnets, fetch, disbables that go on and on and a plethora of other cheesy mechanics to a PVP GAME.

We discuss in vent how these guys actually got the job. Great programmers yes..experienced gamers..thats a stretch.

I'm callnig you out Paul and I'm telling everyone I think you are a noob. Nobody but noobs thinks Fetch is fun. Only noobs like getting rifted. Only noobs need 3x CC choices on every class.

The Mythic team took a step back from Daoc. They did a much better job at keeping the pvp fun and tight as opposed to lame as tactics. Perhaps on paper all these knockbacks looked fun but im principle are killing real pvp.

When developers introduce mass cheese into a game they are compensating cause they don't know what real pvpers want or expect.

As soon as you mentioned FPSers I switched off.

This game is an MMO with a PVP focus. Not an FPS with an MMO focus. There is no FPS in this game.

Once again, it is an MMORPG < Role Playing Game.

Not an FPS.

The developers balanced the game around Warhammer lore and mechanics.

Sigh.

I bet you play a Witch Elf. All FPS people play Witch Elf.

Really? What do "real pvpers" want or expect? Since it seems you're so informed on the subject, maybe you can tell us. In fact, you can just go off and develop your own MMO since it also seems you know better than a design team of 100+.

You complain about Fetch a lot, which gives us all the impression that you're a Destro whiner who complains about any ability that actually kills him quite a few times. You're the kind of player who gives the entire realm of Chaos a bad name. Why is Fetch in the game? Because it's a fun ability given to a relatively underpowered and underplayed class that makes sense considering their lore and pet. Same with Pounce.

If you want to take the fun abilities out of the game and replace it with stale and cut and dry PVP, there's a game called WoW that might suit you better...

lol all i see is biased oppinions and no facts at all.

Youre saying that diversity in abilities is a bad thing? The less diversity the less strategies and the less strategies the more boring the game gets. Drag abilities are fine, but currently 10 sec cooldown is a bit too low. But generally all CC needs some sort of immunity timer. It does ruin the fun if you dont get to fight at all before youre dead.

None the less, it seems like MMO is not your thing and you think you speak for all "true" PvP people while all you speak for is your little gang.

If youre not satisfied with the balance of the game please make a constructive thread where you either come with a solution or ask for a solution to a problem, but first you must explain why there is a problem.

All you have given is an oppinion and nothing else.

I still think he has a point altought. Why designer add so many game breaking ability that make you lose control of you toon. Be it push pull fetch disable disarm magnus aoe pull..

I think there are too much cc in the game and it actualy hurt rvr.

I assume youre replying to my post.

If you are, then read my post through again. I do state that too much CC is bad but that is a combination of all CC. That is not what the original poster said. He said drag abilities should be completely removed which i disagree with since it brings more strategies to the playfield and allow diversity.

An immunity period after a CC would fix alot of the problems with being chained CC'd.

I did read your post but I don t agree with you. I think drag ability are game breaking and easy mode. What kind of skill is required to pull someone from 150 range?

It add easy mode to gank group. It mostly use by them to pull people out of reach into the zerg. The lion get heal and all so it always get target in the open. The pet should get guard agro on the master and die from guard too. Right now wl pet don t get guard agro witch is wrong. I rather see those wl lose fetch and get buf to put them on par with other mele dps.

If you like cc so much why not give caster a blind spell wile your at it. Make the target blind for 15 second. The screen turn black and you don t see anything. By the time you see again your dead. It would be similar to fetch since the result would be the same :P. Drag are one of the wost ability they put in game.

It also remind me serving tether i use to have on my ment. It turn the pet on there master. It was fun but for a cabalist that put all is point on is pet it was game breaking lol. It had to go.

I've played several FPS's as well and I play an Archmage also. It's a very poor generalization you've come up with there.
