Those are some definitely wicked looking "chalices" if you could even call them that. I thought they'd be little offhand items...Guess not! They certainly look like they could bring dah pain.

seems to me there going for making the chalice a wep other then just a stat item like nearly every other MMO has in the past.


shame tho i would have liked to see a pic with the "twin blades". wonder if they can DW 2 of them longer swords or is it 2 of thous shorter daggers.... imo id puffer to see them be able to spec DW swords down maybe a combat tree that focuses on drawing blood n putting bleed effects on the target. thus increasing their taping ability.

I love the look of the chalices. Nothing like gathering blood by smashing the chalice into a stuntie brain.

From the looks of all the art so far I hope that the collector's edition comes with a nice artbook.

I was kind of hoping for more imagery of the ritual daggers, but the Chalices more than suffice. :)

Quite a sizable number of straight men, and some women, still use the term in a derogatory manner. Fear not, idiots aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

As for the emo bit, yeah, the misuse gets irritating, especially when there's some irony in its use. Ranti has been nothing but emo with these recent revelations, so it is quite amusing to see him throwing terms like that one around.

Anyways, yeah, I need to reiterate my position on the male sorcerer. I HATE the fact that females are the only sexualized entities in this game...

I like the look of tier 3 Chalices more than the tier 4 personally. It looks like you might be able to place the Chalice on the ground the 2nd picture looks like each one has a stand.

Anyways, yeah, I need to reiterate my position on the male sorcerer. I HATE the fact that females are the only sexualized entities in this game...
Mythic was doing so well with warrior priests and KotBS. Marauders even revolve around a bare chested concept. Then the dark elf art shows females with ample amounts of flesh exposed and very little on males. It is kind of disappointing they at least do something similar in armor styles, the female armor looks almost completely different besides the color and headdresses in the sorceress art.

Actually it looks like a magical item that you either hold in your off hand while fighting with a dagger or sword, like the zealot skull, OR with magic it transforms into a staff with blades you can fight with. At least that is what I gathered by the artwork.

From the artwork, it looks like they would be really awkward to hold. I like them, but I think it would be cooler if they were designed to fit a Disciple's hand better. That way it won't look like he's holding a stick with a thing at the end, but it would look like he'd be holding it comfortably, in effect making its use look more lavish when he'd be fighting/drinking/whatever. But yeah, it's dark elf stuff. It should have comfort, utility, AND look badass.

Also, these could make for some good animations. Like the Disciple throwing the contents on others, or drinking from it... Eee, I can't wait!
