View Full Version : Who rules end game RvR?

I will probably get flamed for this but I don't care. As a WE, I shine in small group RvR but in any type of mass RvR (keep sieges, fortress sieges etc) I feel next to useless. It seems to me that tanks/aoe's/range nukers shine in endgame RvR.
Anyone else feel this way?

Not sure any class does.
It depends what you do in end game RvR really. Keep Sieges are strictly a range affair right now, melee doesn't really serve much of a purpose other the maybe guarding the postern doors. Tanks maybe... they are good for hitting that lovely door.
In Scenarios however melee shines a little more.
So I don't think there is an answer for you. If I had to give one I would say DoK or Warrior Priest. Hybrid melee healers rule because you can DPS or heal anytime you want, depending on the situation. Unlike most classes you can adapt.
Marauders
Great in large attack groups and in siege with their aoe cc as well as their aoe melee attacks, aoe is also king during lag . They also have the best Morale 4 for siege withy a 7 second stun and knockback. Their pull is also an "I win" button a lot of the time and provides a large proportion of their kills and is crucial in winning ranged standoffs.

No melee class period, is as useful as ranged guys, in ORvR.
Not even close.

Marauder and Chosen.
haha nawt!
Mar's are decent, but chosen are pretty stingy. we're buff bots and aside from standing there, we do about as much as flopping a wet noodle on someone.
any RDPS ftw!!

Chosen, for the disorient goodness that we all love, Chosen are more effective if there's 5 or so in the open field, but if you're trying to assault a keep with few Chosen up top you might as well just leave now. As much as the Chosen complain they're useless, about the last thing you wanna see in ORvR is a pack of em running at your group.

What about a pack of Chosen with a pack of Marauders behind them?

Casters are the most gimped in RvR due to the high resistances people pick up during endgame. Tanks deal more damage than RDPS-casters when people start using better gear.
I'd say WE and WH gets the most kills. Tanks probably get the best kill-death ratio since they are usually targetted last (it's almost pointless to attack them without a huge zerg). Ranged healers can often stay so far back behind the own lines that they survive the longest.
Really chosen don't do much apart from their lame stacking disorient and shields which will probably get nerfed at some point, in 1 on 1 situations I dont think they can beat any class in the entire game, from my experience they are probably the worst destro class.
me, end of discussion, gg.

Hah, you're SO right on the money there.
Well, as a BO (even with my alledged legendary survivability) i sometimes feel next to useless. I charge in, i die, i try again. (dozens of times per evening) I do pretty much only orvr, which this question was about.
In mass orvr, i don't think any career rules.
Small team rvr, different ballgame. Not gonna poke that even with a 10 foot pole.

Booyah! AMs kickin' tail for Asuryan!
On topic, the best organised group tends to win endgame - if groups are balanced. If you've got imbalanced groups, then it's the group with either the best general balance, or the best balance for a specific situation (never bring MDPS to a gunfight, never bring a clothie to a knife-fight, etc.).
