Focus on defensive/drains whne fighting them is what i would do also try to heal as much as i could because time is something they dont have. if they keep casting they will start to hurt themselves more in more. but i dont know who would win in a real fight only time will tell i suppose :D

not all of their spells are dark magic (the spells that begin to hurt them) from the recent write up on the newsletter it would seem they have use of the normal winds of magic aswell.

If I recall correctly, the only generic lores available to the Sorceress are the lores of Shadows and Death.
So, Nightz, you are correct (according to the lore, at least, and Mythic could change it and throw some egg on my face to boot ). Dark Magic will be the predominant lore the Sorceress uses.
Still, playing purely defensive probably wouldn't work. If the tapping ability works by denying the enemy the power to cast powerful spells, then the inverse will be true of the Sorceress, in that the backfire won't get so high.
Thus, it would be necessary to keep the taps up, and use them to fuel heals and offensive DPS.
At least, that's my understanding (I know, I know, taps aren't mentioned in the class description, but we don't have very much information to go with anyways, so let's just run with what we've got, shall we?).

Guys, threads like this are a tad premature.
It's too early to play the theory game, when we still know so little about all the classes. One podcast and a couple of paragraphs on the description page is not enough, we still don't know all the tools any class will have at its disposal.
The only ones who may know a few more things about them are in Beta, and they can't talk about it here on the forums anyway.
How can we discuss tactics at this stage, without breaking the NDA?

Well, like I said, we go with what we've got, until we've got something better. And it is the mission of these forums to allow us to speculate like this until the game is released (at which point this becomes the forums where we brag about what we did ).
So, maybe it is a bit early, but I don't care. It is what these forums are for (and fun too!).

Well, if your even signed up for the beta center you are subject to the NDA. Second, even if your not signed up for the beta center, information that comes from NDA breaks directly or indirectly is still a big nono on WHA.
